Nice research. Bethesda officially released a picture with the announcement of Dawnguard, so all we know is this: Snow Prince Crossbows Vampires A dovahkiin whose eyes glow. Edited by merge: Oh and the Snow Prince was mentioned in Bloodmoon. A piece of note is that the tomb does not contain the remains of the Prince, so... I misunderstood the article. The body is on solsthiem. http://uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Snow_Prince We might encounter Athellor as undead or a spirit. Hell, this could mean spears too. Maybe a new ability, like a snow version of storm call that makes the snow wreak havoc...
Well, dovahkiin's eyes glowing is probably just for the poster to tease that something is new (otherwise it looks like the same promotional picture from release)
Any idea when the release date for this will be? They should also do something about those insects in jars... not being able to properly shelve them or have any quest about them kind of bugs me. No pun intended.
All that has been said is summer 12. Xbox gets it a month earlier than pc or console, but somebody is going to crack the xbox update and recreate it for pc...
Old post, but still worth answering. The thought of a multiplayer mod for Skyrim is highly doubtful unless the Skyrim modding community turns it's head to VaultMP. VaultMP is a Multiplayer Mod for Fallout 3 that's been in development for some time, but doesn't look like it will ever actually be finished because it's main developer said, two days ago I might add: "I no longer feel like continuing development in this way. Without any more core developers this will never get out of the alpha stage. The work required to build new features grows almost exponentially, and it's simply impossible for me to maintain everything alone, even if I wasn't busy with jobs and university." However, the project is open source and more developers from the new Skyrim Modding Community could take up his project. Now, Fallout 3 and Skyrim run on essentially the same engine. Well, truthfully, exactly the same engine... Gamebryo has just been tweaked and retooled a bit since '08. So converting the VaultMP Mod into a Skyrim MP Mod wouldn't be all that much work. But overall the whole project has just really been started, so there's a long way to go before we'll be able to have Unrelenting Force Battles with our buddies atop the Throat of the World.
I think you might be confusing slight changes in the game engine with rather dramatic changes in scritping, ai and referencing functions that would be far more impacting on the progress on an online mod.. Perhaps 2 player coop would be a simpler task to yearn for?
You also negated the multiplayer mod that was created for oblivion, granted it was release MUCH later than a reasonable period, in my opinion, but if started soon enough, the same concept could easily be applied to skyrim. From watching the modding community, I haven't really seen any signs of interest in the matter, which is quite shocking to me.
Multiplayer musings are a distraction at best, and if you want to be particularly cynical, they are just another example of unfortunate trends that have been popping up throughout the gaming world. Tacking on multiplayer modes to games that shouldn't have them to create artificial longevity is not the direction I want the industry heading, though that seems to be the case.
CROSSBOWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111 I think I know which side I'm taking. Time to get back into Skyrim properly methinks.
Now there are only two questions in my mind.. Can we dual wield crossbows, and can you dual wield off horseback?
So yea... "hearth fire" is apparently the next DLC. On a side note, I nearly **** bricks when I saw that trailer. This is not a run of the mill DLC for sure... chances are I will **** bricks when I load in the disk as well.
****. I absolutely despise vampires and I always accidentally become one without knowing and get raped when I walk into Whiterun. I wish I hadn't cured my lycanthropy because apparently lycanthropy and vampirism cannot coexist in your character. There better be one more Dwemer-related quest in Dawnguard or I'm not buying it.
I'm thinking "hearth fire" has more to do with the Dwemer... No proof, just speculation. I mean the Dwemer are were great craftsmen. It could have something to do with it.
