Damn.. I remember in Morrowind I broke into some dudes house, killed him, then put all my stuff in his house and it NEVER disappeared. Sucks it does in Skyrim. EDIT: @Shanon: Me too. I seen a house in Whiterun for $5000 and it's like $2000 extra to fully furnish it.
I just fought my first blood dragon and I have to say, HOLY ****. I am so glad I had my dragonbane sword prior to starting the fight, otherwise I would have lost trying to take it down with my bow like all the others. (fought about 6 dragons now)
that first (real) thieves guild quest was intense. im pumped for the rest. And i havnt even gotten to the dark brotherhood yet. it seems like every time i have an objective to do, i just get distracted and and up doing a couple other quests or exploring random dungeons first. i love it.
Its amazingly easy to level up as a thief by just pickpocketing a skill trainer each time you pay. Got to level 80 pickpocketing in no time flat due to that.
Anyone else not able to get past the door after the Draugr boss in Yngol Barrow? Like, the button is there to open it, but it doesn't do anything ...? This a glitch or?
Did the same thing, except you have to get your money back sooner rather than after you level up five times. Money is exceedingly hard to pickpocket back once it gets over 1000. I've got the sleeping pickpocket thing that makes it easier to pickpocket once the target is asleep, but it's still hard. My pickpocket is currently at 92, I think. Easiest skill to level, in my opinion. Also, the second dragon I fought was a blood dragon and I owned it. If they're supposed to be hard then the other dragons must be pushovers.
the only reason I can kill blood dragons is because I have the dragonbane sword. Other than using that for killing dragons, I only use a bow for anything. Which is probably why I have difficulty with dragons still.
I killed that blood dragon with an Elven bow, a fire and shock spell, and the Mace of Molag Bol. :\ I'm also playing on the default difficulty, Adept, I think.
My first dwemner ruins... although it isn't very ruined... anyone else found the secret door in the arctic? If not i should probably shut up.
First Dwemer ruin I found was Raldbthar. There's a mechanism thing at the end that you can supposedly unlock by getting a certain item from a certain person, but I'm not going to spoil it here for people. Next time I'm on I will try this out to see if it works and report back. Raldbthar is awesome, by the way. I'm guessing all the other Dwemer ruins are just as awesome and intricate. Some sweet loot in there, too.
Where is everybody using to store their loot? I'm trying to find a house that has a lot of bookshelves.
Just buy that shack in Whiterun. Furnish it with 1800 gold. You should have like two bookshelves with like three shelves on each. There's also tables and chests scattered around.
If you're only going for storage, you only need to spend about 800 gold. The decorations are pretty useless. I'm using that shack in whiterun to store everything. I don't understand how people are finding it hard to get gold. It's just flowing into my pockets, and I don't understand how. Perhaps it's just the amount of exploration and dungeon crawling I do. As for Blood Dragons: They're not much of a challenge, but they're a big step up from normal dragons. When I get attacked by a normal dragon, I heal faster than it damages, so heal in one hand and sword in the other, and it can't possibly win. Blood dragons do a lot more damage, but they're still easier to kill than Draugr Deathlords, Giants, Mammoths or a whole load more enemies in the game. That plus they seem to have a lower reward output. I usually only find 1 or 2 dragon bones on them as opposed to the usual 3.
Does anyone know what Esbern's potion does? It says it gave me a perk, but I have no way of finding out what it does, and google is failing me.
Fighting the second named dragon and it randomly spots a giant and 2 mammoths which happened to be walking past. It attacks them and the giant hits it once and knocks it down to a sliver of health. I shoot one arrow at it and kill it. The NPC then starts to praise my amazing combat skills! Best win ever
Yeah my second unnamed was killed by mammoths. My fourth got somewhat hurt by a giant, but I let the giant get killed first because whenever the dragon would go airborne the giant would turn to me... My fifth unnamed came right when I spotted a pack of bandits. Wait, what bandits?
