Ebalere started as a co-forge between AceOfSpades and I, but he's too good for me and our baby, so he walked out before it was born. But seriously, this map would still be a 4x4 platform of flooring if he wouldn't have helped me get started, so srs thanks to him. Nibs and Xzample have been quite a bit of help too. So thanks and stuff. Anyways, the idea was to have a "building" type thing with an outdoor area with the sun shining on it. It kinda reminds me of some Doom 2 map looks-wise, and I think someone else said that at one point too. Umm, I've played a quite a few games and I'm actually fairly happy with how it plays. Yeah I dl'd this off your FS the other day, and I was definitely impressed. I love the 2x2 flats with the grass showing.
Is this a 1v1? 2v2? what sort of map am I looking at here? Also, I do like the aesthetics of it(2x2 flats with grass are really very nice, also I'm not a fan of the yellow coloring. It looks bad to me), though I cant say much else from just the images. I have a question for all. Why the desire to emulate Quake/Doom? I never really played either, but I do know they were very much loved games. However I didnt see maps trying to emulate the style of those games until a few months ago and since then so many have been doing this. Im all for drawing inspiration from other maps/games, but there is such a big focus on these. Why? (Sorry for the off-topic question)
So I saw a map preview, it had erupts name underneath so I'm like this should be neat erupt is a good forger. The name was something weird, also attention grabbing, I look at the first three pics, think "another good looking map," then I saw the fourth pic and became aroused. The cave looks damn sexy. And after reading clucks post I look deeper into the pics... Of course there's grass in a 2x2. If you need testers I'm open most of the time.
2v2 was surprisingly good and enjoyable. The aesthetics, of course, are awesome. Now it's time to get a good old 1v1 on this.
From the OP: Annnd I guess I haven't tried anythig but the yellow yet, I just used it throughout because I thought it looked the best with onthe 2x2 Flats from the beginning. I only mentioned Doom because while making the outside area, it reminded me of a Doom map (The first Doom 2 map, to be exact, it's a building with an outside area fairly similar to this map.) Quake, however, has some of the best designs and their styles work well for Halo because the games are similar. Thanks ya. Wellll, it's not technically a cave. It's just an outside area with rocks, really. I wouldn't consider it a cave, anyways. But thanks! Gallant is a nice design and all, but this map is a huge progression from Gallant. While there are a few connections that I feel could be improved, this map has oodles of dance floor; which, while simple to incorporate, is some what forgotten on most maps. Great job brah.

Looks good, I think with it would play really well with 3v3 CTF. However, I don't really like the abstract, meaningless name which seem to be the trend with Competitive Maps. Also, what Weapons does it have and will it support Infection?
3v3 flag? No. It's an asymmetrical map designed for 1v1-2v2. Abstract name? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Weapons? Sniper, Grenade Launcher, Concussion Rifle Infection? NOooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Thoughts? Edit: I decided I don't like any other colors other than yellow for this map. May be me bias against major change like that, but yeah for whoever asked.
A two-way system will definitely not work with the current weapon set-up. Mainly due to the shotgun and the conc, not so much the GL.
This, I mean its been done with water but the grass all neat is refreshing in forge world. It looks like you can get on that rock? It reminds me of beaver creek.
So I downloaded this from my recommendations, and I was blown away. Very nice map, dude. Can't wait to see the finished product. Also, just a heads up. There are a few spots up in the rocks that aren't covered by kill barriers, one of which is in a spot where hiding would be all too possible.

Got a game on this a little while ago... At first I wasn't feeling it. Thought the map was too confusing to navigate at first and the game quickly became a 6-0 disadvantage for me... Then it finally clicked and I was navigating my way around the map like a pro and ripping face. Made a comeback into a landslide victory. That was for a 1v1... Also played a 4 player FFA. Was not enjoyable in the least... I'd say this is probably a pretty solid map for 1v1/2v2. Nice work Erupt.
I imagine it might be kinda hard to navigate at first. Although each room has it's own.. "thing." That's what I tried to do anyways. Was it like, spawning and not knowing what room you were in or not knowing what room connected to what room? And thanks and stuff. I imagine a 4 player FFA would be insane now since I removed a major LoS blocker in the center and it was fairly hectic before that I think it works best as a 2v2.
