This mini-game is inspired by the clay pigeon shooting game from the NES classic, Duck Hunt. Players take turns firing the Gauss warthogs at a number of targets (zombie pigeons) that are launched through the air in succession. Created by WetBeaver Download Duck Hunt Download Clay Shooting This spot on Standoff reminded me of the original background the most, plus the pigeons go over the edge kinda like they go out of sight in the original game. The zombie pigeons start in this pigeon coop, where they wait 10 seconds for the teleporters to open up. After 10 seconds, the teleporters open, and the zombie pigeons are launched. The humans with the Gauss zappers then try to hit as many as they can in 2 minutes. But these aren't clay pigeons, they're zombie pigeons, with sniper rifles (an infection is worth 2 points). The shield on the Gauss provides great cover from the sniper fire, but you have to look right at the pigeons, so your sides aren't exposed. Humans are set for instant kill, but zombies do normal damage (actually they only do damage when they get one of the custom powerups from the launchers). Humans' shields do not recharge, though. The game supports up to 16 players. For games with 7 players or less, there will only be one human shooter. The rest will be zombie pigeons (zombie selection is random). For games with 8 players, there will be 2 shooters and 6 pigeons. For games with more than 8 players, a new player class is used: sitting ducks. All extra players beyond 8 begin as the sitting ducks. These are humans that spawn on a floating platform off the edge of the map. They are limited in movement and armed with only plasma pistols. Their purpose is basically to become zombie pigeons (the idea is that you'll eventually have 2 shooters and up to 14 pigeons). Thanks ForgeHub and everyone who helped for all the testing and ideas. What about 21 in a round? PM me with a screen and I'll post it up.
Re: Duck Hunt It goes off the edge of the map so it is killed by guardians (I am assuming here) so no point for the human Awesome idea I love it and can't wait to play it
Re: Duck Hunt Thanks for the comments, all. I'm glad you guys like it. Correct. They go over the edge, no point, no penalty.
Re: Duck Hunt i used to loooove this game, that is why i download. and i could picture some serious fun going on in this map niiiiiice
Re: Duck Hunt Awesome, queued. I don't really have anything else to say. Peeps, FTW :squirrel_rubberduck:. I love Easter.
Re: Duck Hunt I have played this many times with you beaver. This is one of the BEST minigame maps out there in my opinion. It is extremely fun to play with. The more people the better (That is up to 7). I am guessing you got everything sorted out with it as well. Deffinately download this map. It is worth it.
Re: Duck Hunt Thanks... yeah the rail guns are all sorted out in the current version. The only thing I'm messing around with now is the 2-shooter suggestion. It'll solve the extra player problem too, because I'll use 6 initial zombies (instead of 15), making any extra players humans, instead of zombies that can just (slowly) assassinate the human. (For those who haven't played, the problem I'm talking about is only when you play the game with too many players) Peeps > Bunnies
Re: Duck Hunt this is the first version i've seen. i just played it too, its fun (but hard) with only two people, but you can tell that with more it would be a good time.
Re: Duck Hunt It was good fun when we play tested it. However, did you fix the glitch where players can bump against the side of the cannon and land on the ground? It was hell chasing Gravedigger around with only a plasma pistol...
Re: Duck Hunt @ToochieHxC: This is the only published version, I was just referring to the various versions we tested along the way. For 2 people, it would be pretty tough for the pigeon, because the Gauss is definitely easier to hit people with. (I'm no good with the sniper though) @Maxwell360: Yup... The zombie movement is 25%, so they can't get side to side like they used to (flying through the air is the same speed regardless). @Cr0ok3d: I'm always down, been trying to get a [thread=5825]test[/thread] together for a possible update anyway. (Been playin a lot of RSV2 though)
Re: Duck Hunt I tested this with you once.. it kicks ass. Anyway I'd love to play it again if you want to do some more tests, and if I'm available
