    Map Description
Drop Ball draws from many sources for it's inspiration. Notably the HaloBall, Hockey, and a smidge of Dinoblasters from the Action Sack playlist. There is also some inspiration from Darth Human's Avalanche map, though somewhat distant. The sum of these inspirations is a small arena where 10 golfballs roll down and into the central area (from both sides), and the players are given the task of getting them into the opposing team's goal-bot (the thing looking like a face is a bit of a fluke to be honest).... with bottomless clip concussion rifles.

Ten balls might seem like a bit much, but scoring is more difficult than it may sound. The goal is fairly wide but also quite short, and a slight miss with the concussion rifle can send the balls flying off in a very different direction than intended... and that's before you consider other players shooting at the balls as well. The score needed to win is set at a modest 25 points, one point per ball put into the pit at the back goal-bot's throat (once it's in the mouth, scoring is easy; the trick is getting it that far). Time limit is set at five minutes.

To prevent the game from becoming a kill-fest in the very small arena, it is not possible to kill players by normal means; your weapon (nor melee attack) does not deal damage and you can't assassinate them either. However, it's still quite possible to kill eachother with unconventional means. Players will be able to knock eachother into the Kill Ball which floats above the centre of the arena (or the gravity lift directly beneath it), which made a bit easier due to gravity being set to 50%. Alternatively, bowling them over with balls works just fine.

Respawn points are on the landing atop the goal-bot, and the settings are set at 5 seconds base time with 5 second penalties for suicides or betrayals (forgot to tweak that, to be honest). There are no shields, no recharge, and players are only able to take a paltry 10% of their normal damage before dying. Run speed is set to 150% and jump height to 110%.

EDIT: I've uploaded a sister map to this one, Ball Bin. It uses the same custom gametype and general concept, though the balls are a fair bit more hazardous & numerous (it bears a stronger resemblance to Avalance).

An aerial view of the arena, and pretty much explains the whole idea.

    Happy blasting!
