Hey, it's my first time chroma boxing, any quick tips on how to get the lighting just right? Half of my map is interior i'm not so much worried about that, but the extior i'm realy concerned about.

And it's on tidal to boot, with the terrain being incorperated with the water... Facepalm*

Instead of Chromas, use all black 256x256 floors with emmisive: 0 and lightbake off

Exterior with chroma boxing isn't usually worth it but I guess if its a night time map it can work, my issue with it is how fog gives away the fact its in a box along with it always feeling a bit off unless I use massive amounts of lights which then gives way too many frames. I think the biggest challenge will be water, water has fixed lighting and meteor shower is not an option if you want trees to not look like garbage, it basically has to be stormy to look decent, water will glow like radioactive waste on any daytime skybox.

Without water this is totally doable, but with water you will have a relatively bad time. Wish you luck, if you tell us what type of area it is outside we could help more, im just assuming its natural.

If I wanna chromabox an outdoors map I make really really tall mountains surrounding it so they reach up and you can't see the corners of the box, and then have a decent amount of distance fog so you can't tell.

I deceded to go back to natural lighting, great suggestions though guys.

Chroma boxing was my solution to going over my budget and breaking the lighting on a pervious canvas. But i started from scratch and i'm light baking off all the interior room props and leaving the exteriors bake on. It's working great now, i'm at 60% light map and my map is mostly done
