So in a map that I've built, I've created a system where the player sets off 3 landmines in order to make a fourth spawn to open a door. Sure, that works fine, but there's a problem after the door is open. The way it's set up is so that there is a sender teleporter in the ground, followed by a one way shield door, followed by a crate over the receiver node. The one way is in place because a player could open the door if they got too close. Therefore, once the landmines are blown up, the fourth spawns next to the box, causing it to move and unblock the teleporter. Here's the problem: As soon as the landmine spawns, the box forces it into the wall/floor causing it to explode repeatably. The player would need to time it right to make it through the door without being killed by the explosion. Sure, the easy fix would be place a shield door for protection, expand the area, or have the box travel past the mine. Unfortunately, my budget is at 0. None of those are options. Is there a way to place these without the landmine exploding 1/3 of the time? The door before the switch is activated The door after the switch is activated. The dead time where the landmine does not explode because the crate has de-spawned. The ideal way for the door to function. Note that all of these were taken without the roof above it. If you want to look at the map to figure it out, just ask/send me a friend request and message on XBL and I'll show it to you.
you're going to have to find a way to get more budget back. there is probably somewhere in your map where you didnt use objects as economically as you could, or maybe you used a decorative when you could have used a block. usually its possible in most maps to save around 500 to 1000 if you are careful with object economy.
I already deleted what I could to make the last section of the map possible. Maybe I'll make a separate post asking if someone wants to look through the map for anything that could be edited. However, I'll put up pictures now if it makes a difference.
