Door mechanism, a door that is openable by the player

very simple design that seems to work well. I like the tunnel leading to the door

 

Lots of people come up with methods for making doors, some of them (like this) are rather clever but not many people use them in their maps.

Seriously, though, nice post. I know GO43r had something similar to this going a while back, except he had the custom powerup below the player... and I think there were vertical grav-lifts involved. Pleasure to know the conveyor belt inspired you, though. It's an elegant little setup... if custom powerups weren't so annoying (having to change speed back to 100% before every serious game), I'd use this in my next map.

He interlocked a custom powerup in the wall so when you hit the weapon holder you pick it up, either that or there is a propane tank behind it and when you hit it the propane tank moves

 

Aah, fair enough. But it was GO43R who showed it to me. It worked pretty smoothly.

 

This has been done before. But still

 

coyote showed me the door, i think its amazing, same with the conveyer belt that was pretty sweet

 

Darn it, a shame that it's a pallet which anyone could destroy

 

Couldn't you punch the pallet to open it too?

Doors are used on the map fatty's palace. They are less complicated and aren't you design.
