Everything seems balanced and from looking at the constructive criticism those tweaks should be a good boost to making the game better. My piece of advice (you don't have to listen to me because it will change the entire game by a lot) but my piece of advice: use either only banshees or hornets. Only because hornets will always win a 1v1 against a banshee unless the hornet is weak, but merely because : the hornet can maneuver easier allowing the it to "strafe". The fact that it can hover with no movement makes it easier to control the guns. A banshee doesn't have lock- on missiles And a banshee must keep flying forward making close range targets a problem to kill. Just my advice to balance the game, but like i mentioned before it will change the whole game. Giving it a download anyway
It canot work like that, there are only a total of 4 Banshees and a total of 4 Hornets (2 being Transport and 2 being Regular).
Lol thanks for the comment on the phantom peloquin. On to the map. It is very simple, but then again in most dogfights you would not have all this cover surrounding you. This would go beastly with a team KoTH or even a ctf or assault match were only hornets are there(or banshees, if u dare!) Territories would also be cool make the look like rings that you fly through (scrap that, do it for a race Game Type)
jpeloquin, i reccomend that you put a custom powerup on top of the spawns for the regular hornets that makes them like 1/2 -1/4 as strong, because a regular hornet completely dominates banshees and transports
NOTE: V2 of the gametype is Up in the OP! Changes made form the original - Damage Resistance is now 150% - Damage modifier is nowe 75%
You might want to make the recharge rate to 50. With it taking so long to kill someone now, it would be better to make the shields take longer to recharge. That way someone can't just run and quickly recharge their shield that took you so long to get down
That is actually a great idea. I think that would balance the hornet effectively if you make it to where you have to get the powerup to get the hornet.
I did try that, and really, it just the battles too much quicker. So I decided to keep the setting how it was. And plus, you really cannot "run away" in this gametype. Most fo the time, you are being chased by an individual people who keeps on your trail.
Ok cool. You might be right, it would prob take too long to recharge then. 90 might be better, or it might be perfect now. Again, I love the idea of the map. I would like to help you make one in Reach if you are getting the game. I will also DL the new game and map and try this puppy out with a party. Great work.
This map seems very fun. The forging is very simple, but my only concern is the kill balls and blocks are only to make the game harder (killballs) 4/5 gameplay is great. Im going dowload to this
Lol i was about to sh1t my pants because I thought you stole my idea.... Nevermind though cool map BTW just the kill balls are annoying as hell, its the way I died most of the time
The map looks nice, and gameplay looks like it goes fairly well too, but moving the map up a bit like one of the other posters said could improve gameplay since I can predict myself flying too low, and make the playing area larger. I don't have anyone to try this out for myself at the very moment, but I'd definitely make it bigger if I were you. And maybe add in some more cover so the regular Hornets don't completely dominate the sky.
