In general I think it would be nice to have official guidelines for what is appropriate for posting map updates, the only thing us creators can do is assume if something is update worthy. I think official rules and the addition of a "Minor Updates" section somewhere would greatly benefit the site. Rules would something like this--- For your map to qualify for a major map update (bumps you and is excluded from minor update section) you must include 4+ changes. Of course it would be far more detailed and specific but I think something along these lines will make this site more viable after the file browser update to Halo.
I don't think that's necessary. Someone who needs to get their map fixed/changed should be able to do so without restriction. If a game-breaking issue comes up, and the creator fixes it, we wouldn't want them to have to change other things on the map in order to update it. IMO, the current system is fine.
the current system is fine. the people who are abusing it by keeping their map at the top with insignificant updates are probably doing the opposite by turning people off. if you don't feel like your map got enough exposure, submit it to a weekly testing lobby or post it somewhere else and ask for feedback.
I understand why that may seem like a good idea. I don't see it accomplishing what you want it to accomplish though. There wouldn't be any way of preventing someone from just making sure their 'Update' meets the criteria required to bump it. A person could literally change nothing on their map and push out a fake update to bump their map.
