Should I feel lucky that my mind is usually too obliterated to START my maps/gametypes and so there's no problem finishing them? No, no I shouldn't.

Since that's no fun to think about, let's throw fuel on this fire instead. Here's a few ideas for maps that would at least be different from the usual fare, even if it's not the most original junk:
    • No floors. We have clambering now, which could result in some really different gameplay, but I don't see it being exploited. If you're not a big fan of the always-on sprinting... Also, it'd be great to see some Thief-like rooftop maps.
    • Classic moving platforms to jump around on. Or really dangerous automated environments (like a Star Destroyer trash chute). Might be fun to fight the map and the other team at the same time.
    • More maps with destructible structures. We should collect a bunch of methods for making these. That'd make a nice YouTube tutorial.
    • One-way shields as platforms you can jump up through, like side-scrolling plain jumpers of old.
    • Team shields or invisible blockers as bridges. Hint: don't walk across your team's shields. Changing the shields to control power positions could make fire nice team objective play.
    • ANYTHING that would change up Grifball some. @NOKYARD, you're a boring mofo and I defy you to make a more exciting Grifball. (I didn't really say this, I'm just quoting @Preacher001. It's his fault.)

I have not yet started to build 'my' Grifball Courts yet. Everything so far has been driven by my community obligations. Even so, the last 4 entries are far from boring.

If you were talking about changing up the actual Grifball game type, that's not up to me. GrifballHub is in charge of the game variant settings (which are incorrect in MM). I just administer the courts.

As for the original discussion, i only start maps and don't finish them as a means to 'bookmark' the idea for later completion, which i then complete based on my availability. The only time i would start, but not finish, a project is if the driving force behind the original idea had dried up. Like, if i was making a boring square Grifball for boring Grifball and they suddenly decided that round courts were to be used, i would stop my square Grifball Court projects.

I came from a commercial printing background and people who suffer from the issue described in the OP last about 1/3 of a shift before they are shown the door. You learn very quickly how to determine if a project is feasible and worth your time. Then you see the project through to 100% completion. After your first $35,000 print job is rejected due to a comma " , " being out of place (after final proof) you also gain an eye for fine detail without losing sight of the overall scope of the project.

So, no, i do not suffer from MapDHD. (but will kindly offer advice to builders who do suffer, if asked)

One project I'm trying to do is a remake of District from Halo 2. Its a modern snowy theme at night, taking the look of Halo 5, ODST, 2, and Reach human structure. While trying to upscale it at the same time, it's taking quite a while to make. I've almost completed Red corner/base, and that's about it.

I couldn't visually process my way out of a paper bag, but even I can see that these maps are freakin' sweet. I probably could see that I was in a paper bag though. That bouncy castle bounce action would drive me nuts, but I'd still enjoy the change of pace. Yeah, I should go harass GrifballHub then (thanks for info yet again!). Or better yet, I should actually complete some Grifball concept maps, but neither is likely to happen. Maybe if the arena was in a giant paper bag... and mom packed Gruntloaf again but it's gone bad. No!

    2for1 troll. Impressive.
This is pretty much why I had to delete 50+ virtually empty maps from my Reach account. It seems I am also well on my way here in Halo 5. It doesn't help that the lack of split screen in Halo 5, which is my primary way of gaming with friends, has left me with little motivation to complete a map. Funny bit of nonsense, my friend refuses to call the game anything but Space Solitaire 5.

So far, curiosity (and harrassment from friends) has only lead me to partialially recreat my previous maps while sussing out the new Forge. I haven't really attempted a new map even though I have a number of interesting ideas in my head.

I started re-imagining my Tahros Port map yesterday because I thought wood floors in one of the room may look nice.

I spent some deep mediation on whether I should put a square line around a big cube on Baltis Causeway

Fortunitly this love of floors and squares really paid off and I finally came up with a floor I like on There's no F in Way

    Yay Floors!!!

Someone else already said this, but I have more of a MapCD problem than I do a MapDHD problem.
