    My first forge attempt on a map is a dodgeball map with the inspiration of Spartan_R14's idea and the look of Pilk's dodgeball max. i had always been looking for a way to take out honor rules in dodgeball but I couldn't think of a way that would take off the honor code and not limit the action by lobbing it over some wall. Here is the setup:

    You start in a spectators box on each side, when you enter the map, there is a closed in area with spike, plasma, and a few fire grenades (since they all stick.) The playing surface is on a second level of boxes and in the middle if you try to jump to the other side there is a wall that does not affect grenade trajectory. The gap is 2 boxes wide and if you attempt to jump it when you fail you will land in the hole where the only place to go is in the teleporter that sends you to your spectator box.

    The game variant can be found in my file share, slot 2. It is set to 150 damage resistance to encourage sticking, 200% gravity so you can't jump the wall, 110% shield regeneration, magnums as the only weapon, and no starting grenades. Feel free to tinker with this.

    Edit: I was recently penalized with a 90 day bungie blacklist because I had my OP and I posted again right after that even though I already had some downloads and was not looking to bump but instead place an update. I didn't know of the edit feature and was warned so the next time I get into a conversation with a guy who advertised his map and I didn't realize how to quote either so he was blacklisted and it appeared I was bumping and so I was blacklisted.

    The point is I will not be able to post any updated screenshots that show the cleaner version, or will I be able to change the map around like possibly a death spawn. Also the GAME VARIANT IS A NECESSITY but yet I see twice as many map downloads. If you don't have it, it completely takes away from the no honor system.

    The updated version has been posted, and it is a lot more professional and smoother.

    Yeah the newer version has been cleaned up a bit, I could take some screenshots.

    I have found that if you don't use red or blue you will not spawn inside the base. I would also appreciate any criticism or praise ;D by you forge pros to a forge n00b here.

    Colours other than red and blue count as 3rd team, 4th team, etc, so you must stick to red and blue. Looks good, a little big for sticking but I haven't tried it so maybe it's fine.

    Shock, is there a way to set only red and blue for my game like bungie does for matchmaking. I know you can for CTF although it should have more than 2 teams as an option. I don't want people to think lets be green team and then they spawn outside the map, hopefully they will be smart enough.

    I really wanted a map that was large enough to play with a large party but also with smaller parties. 1v1 and 2v2 are a bit of a stretch but anything over that is a blast. I am still testing with variants on damage resistance and other stuff but it is already a very fun cheating-less game. The second version is already more cleaned up than the screenshots show and it will only get better.

    Keep in mind this is my first time to forge a real whole map so it is not professional but I did take my time and the aesthetics are nice enough so it doesn't take away from the great gameplay. If you try it out Shock, I know you are a great forger so please tell me what I need work with, thanks.

    This is definitely the best dodgeball map I played. I especially like the spectators box and the gap between the bases. I suggest making the teleporters between the boxes death teleporters and for the gametype it should be negative points for beatdowns (i'm not sure if it is already)

    Thanks voodoo, I went back and forth between death teleporters and ones that take you back to the base. The reason I left it as it is, is because sometimes you fall on accident but I guess a death teleport would keep people from just jumping down there. For the beatdowns, I am not sure really what you are saying. If you are talking about beatdowns as in melee, I have never had issues with this.

    Unfortunately I just got blacklisted for a pretty ridiculous reason. I posted my map on Bungie and then the next comment I had an update on the info for the map and I was blacklisted shortly thereafter. I guess i should have edited, i didn't think they were so serious on the bump policy especially since I actually had information in the second post and a lot of people do it just to get to the top. Hopefully I get that off soon, I sent an email to understand how wrong that was. Thanks.

    Yeah, bad luck with getting blacklisted man.

    I suspect that if they weren't death teleporters then some people would jump forward to have a better chance of sticking, and then go back through the teleporter and repeat- rather than staying in the top arena the whole time.

    Anyway I'll download and check it out, although it looks pretty solid to me.

    As for forcing red/blue teams, I don't think you can do it, but it's default team colours anyway, and it's common sense... if they don't team that way, they'll work it out. You can't be criticised for that, so don't worry.

    That is what I was starting to think on the death thing and the team colors. When I get off the blacklist, I will post one with a death portal and suicide penalty. I still don't understand what voodoo was saying with the beatdown thing.

    WOW LMAO! You almost jacked my map. I'll post pics tommorrow. Mines the same except smaller, with a "net", different weapon placement and spawn zone.

    Dodgeball/stickball is incredibly common, but this seems worth a queue. Also, this is the first I've seen that actually deals a penalty for crossing the line (or at least offers the potential for it) so that's good.

    Ok now I haven't tried this yet so I'm not for sure, but it looks like you could jump, crouch jump, or grenade jump to the wall in the middle, the to the other side... am I wrong?

    That is what high gravity is for, I have tried a few times to do both and even though you might be able to do once in a while, I guarantee you will not have enough time to do it in the heat of a game and be stuck. I haven't seen it done yet when I'm messing around, so in a big battle it seems very unlikely to be done even if it can be done at all.

    Potzar, this is my first attempt at a map but I think it is worthy because honor rules are thrown out.

    Sniper, I am sorry if I stole your thunder. Since the first stickball one for sandtrap came out, I had been looking for one that eliminated those cheaters that crossed the line and shot you. Tricky came out with his stickball on the pit and I put teleporters on both sides so you would go back to the back, but the base was too small and the nodes got in the way. Then I posted for some help with an idea because I was almost done, I just had a line I needed to come up with and Spartan R_14 came up with the idea for a 2 level map. I credited him and went straight to forge and have been perfecting it ever since. I am interested to see your net and compare the two maps, yours will probably be better since this is my first one.

    Texas, this map is great you have my 5/5 but it would be nice if you incorporated a death teleporter.

    Thanks man I have thought about it and I'm going to keep it how it is because people who fall down on accident I don't want to penalize them. If you want to incorporate a death portal you can its not hard to take out honor completely but hopefully the people you play with are honorable enough not to jump down there for a better chance at a stick.

    Yeah, I guess that would be rough if you got stuck down there on accident and are forced to kill yourself. But, I am going to go ahead and change it with a death spawn and suicide penalty.
