I always kind of liked the flood (and in Halo CE they were SCARY ) but by the third game they were getting kind of old. Do you think that we should keep the flood as a multiplayer game type or should they return to the campaign in halo 5? Personally, I think a firefight game mode with the flood in it would be awesome!
I think being able to set up.some sort of firefight mode in forge would be amazing. I think the new Doom is going to allow something like this in its DoomSnap map editor, but the maps themselves are gonna be pretty generic BC you just snap rooms together. As is, IMO, infection is a very hard gametype to make interesting maps for. A few really good ones have been made, but they all seem like they follow a pretty predictable gameplay pattern.
I've always wanted to be able to use forge with firefight, but I'm afraid that I don't see firefight coming back for a while .
Speaking of Bungie, did anybody else notice that they did the flood WAY better than 343 did in Halo 4? (and they also made better maps, and balanced weapons better?)
Ive always been a huge fan of flood in the campaign. It was nice because you'd get so far into a game, only killing the same groups of 5-7 different aliens and using the same tactics every time. The flood provided a change of pace, enemies could come back, they often rushed you in packs and weapon choice changes. I can see that the Halo story line is done with the flood, but the need for a change up of gameplay is necessary for any great title. Also the flood were just totally ****ing cool
Campaign wise, the Flood need to be put to rest. We've covered their arch over the course of a trilogy, and to bring them back now would do nothing but undermine the goals characters from the original Halo's set out to reach and eventually conquer. Keep the flood theme going with the Infection gametype (As long as they can hold weapons)? HELL YEAH. Bring them back as a viable threat in the sequel trilogy? No- their story has finished, and it is time for us to move forward.
