Map Title: dm_b01.1* *I don't have an official 'name' for this map yet, considering the fact that after about fourteen hours of work on it I haven't changed the name. Player Load: Two to six players, ideally. Can support a game of 4v4, but 6 players is the recommended maximum. Supported Gametypes: Slayer (Infinity, SWAT, and Standard), Oddball, KotH, CtF, Flood, Extraction (with five supported sites), and Dominion (with four bases built into the map). Ordinance: No initial, but a random drop in bottom-center, which cycles between Overshield, Speed Boost, and Damage Boost. Weapons: Two grenades in every corner (except for Blue Corner); Orange corner has Plasmas, Red Corner has Frags, and Green Corner has Pulse (each on a 45-second respawn) Two Needlers; one inbetween bottom Red and Green, and one in Blue corner (both on a sixty-second respawn with one spare clip) Boltshot; only one, in the 'low corner' in bottom Orange (one spare clip with a sixty-second respawn) Rocket Launcher; between bottom Orange and bottom Red (one spare clip, three-minute respawn) Sniper Rifle; Green corner, high platform (one spare clip, three-minute respawn) Gravity Hammer; Upper Blue Corner, on far platform (adjusted clip size of 0 for gametypes in which it gets replaced, three-minute respawn) Map Features: Full-compatibility with Extraction, CtF, and Dominion, with unique bases for Dominion and five locations for Extraction! Spawning available for four teams; Red, Blue, Green, and Orange. Perfect for casual multi-team! Nine hill locations for KotH, labeled Alpha through Hotel for easy tracking. A trait zone in the open ceiling to prevent players from leaving the map, with the map itself being encased in a soft-safe zone. Trait zone completely removes movement, weapon damage, radar, ability useage, and amplifies gravity and adds a waypoint for all players to see. If somebody can actually leave the map, you'll know where they are for all of the ten seconds that they can actually roam around. Map Details: I went into this map with the mindset that I wanted to create something that you could load up and run with a party of as little as three players. I thought of all of those times when there were only a couple of friends online to play with and always thought "I wish there was something smaller that we could play". I figured that other people might think the same thing from time-to-time, so I'm attempting to make a map exclusive to small, casual games. Each corner of the map has its own color coding for easy callouts. Like I said before, the map also boasts full support for Dominion and Extraction. For Dominion, there are four bases; one in the 'lair' in Orange Corner, one in Red Corner's upper area, one in Green Corner's lower area, and another in Orange Corner's upper level. Here's the base setup: Red Corner: The second-largest base. Console is located on the upper-floor platform. Fortifying the base raises two barricades on the upper floor, and one on the lower floor, all facing Orange Corner. A turret spawns behind the base, the only area it can hit being upper Green Corner, for anybody sneaking up on the base from behind. A single shield door will spawn on the bottom floor, dividing Green Corner and Red Corner. A resupply will give three ordinance drops; two on the top floor, and another on the bottom. Orange Corner (bottom): The smallest base. Console located on a windowed-wall. When fortified, a single barrier will raise just off of the ramp that leads into this base. A turret will spawn inside of the doorway, barring the only entrance. Good news, though, the base is tiny, and if you know how to throw a grenade then you can take it out with relative ease. A shield door will spawn blocking the low ramp that leads to the entrance. Dividing Orange corner and Blue Corner. Three ordinance drops on resupply; two in the base and one outside. Orange Corner (upper): The second-smallest base. Console located just before ramp to the 'crow's nest'. This base features the least amount of defenses without fortifications, and as such can be hard to take while nobody owns it. However, upon fortifying, it becomes one of the most heavily-fortified bases. The 4x4 platform that the main base is on gains barriers on all but one face, and a shield door to the adjacent crows nest appears, leaving your snipers more easily defended. Its high location also makes it difficult to reach when fortified. A teleporter also appears on the high platform teleporter, meaning that whomever controls this base controls the upper map's teleporter. Only two ordinance drops are supplied to this base, though. Green Corner: The largest base. The entire lower floor of the map is this base, which means that whatever team happens to control it controls not only the bottom teleporter, but also the map's default Ordinance drop. It's location (or, low-cation... ha) leaves your team shielded from sniper fire from above, but may leave you vulnerable to having grenades rained down on you. When fortified, the base gains one barrier down low to separate the grassy area from the metallic area, making it harder to move to the main console from below. A shield door spawns just after the staircase, accomplishing the same thing. Extraction sites are located in each corner, and at top-center on the map. So they're a lot simpler to explain than the Dominion bases. Anyway, enough with the block of text, here's a video and some screenshots: Three-player Slayer gameplay. Anyway, hope somebody can have fun on this one. Right now, this is the first 'playable' version of it, but a ton of time has gone into making sure that all spawns, gametypes, safe and kill zones are set up properly, as well as objectives. All Dominion and Extraction objectives have been set up, as well as spawn zones for Dominion and Capture the Flag, so it should be ready to go.
Embedded images and videos would be much less tedious than what you've got here. Use halocaptures.com to capture your video. You'll get a YouTube link which you can embed. Also post the images with the proper tag. This will embed them and bypass photobucket's retarded page. Gah! It's so much better, and not at a resolution worthy of 90s-era texture scaling! I'll definitely have to get used to that, instead of the lazy copy-pasting of URLs that I'm used to. Thanks for showing me the neat trick. For the images themselves, just do the picture[/image] tags? I have no idea why I went with URL tags, now that I think about it. Thanks again, I'm going to poke around on Halo Captures for a little now. Have a good one.
