Divided is an inverse symmetrical map built for 4v4 team slayer. FFA works as well and I'm working on CTF. I've spent a long time working on this map and I hope it shows. Any thoughts, suggestions, and/or constructive criticisms would be much appreciated!

    Weapons:
    1 Grenade Launcher
    1 Sniper Rifle
    4 Magnums
    4 DMRS
    2 Needle Rifles
    2 Plasma Pistols
    2 Concussion Rifles
    8 Frags
    4 Plasma nades

Concussion rifle is on the second floor of the main blue building

You have some nice symmetry going on here and the layout gives it a nice circular flow. Cover does not seem like an issue at all. However, your map is absolutely overloaded with weapons.

Your map is medium-sized, and I reccomend a maximum of 4 DMRs/Needle Rifles (that's 4 total of both, not 4 DMRs and 4 Needle Rifles). Get rid of the extra frag spawns and have only 2 plasma grenade pairs on the map, one on each side. Otherwise people are going to be nade-spamming on your map like crazy. There's no need to have 2 Concussion rifles either - you have a Grenade Launcher. Make the teams fight for the power weapons instead of giving each side a power weapon and calling it a day.

Overall, it looks like a solid 2v2 or 4v4 map, and CTF sounds like a lot of fun too. Good luck finishing it up.

Thanks for your input Titan. I'll get rid of those extra weapons and nades. I definitely don't want a nade fest. How many frag grenades should I place on the map? 1 pair for each side?

    Thanks again!

I think 1 pair of plasmas on each side would be good, and maybe 1 pair of frags somewhere in the middle. Or, you could mix things up by making the grenade spawns have 1 frag and 1 plasma. Your choice.

I like the layout of the map but I'm not fond of the random rocks that were added on the side. But thats just me.

The map is situated pretty close to the cliff edge. Going along with what Havok said, why don't you use some seastack rocks to actually connect the map to the cliff? That might help with the rocks feeling just random.

The rocks were placed there because there is a slight difference in the elevation of the two walkways and I couldn't find a block piece to work. And there needed to be some cover. But yes, I agree they DO look a little out of place.

If I did add rock spires to one side of the map then I would have to do the same thing to the other side, or one team would have an advantage over the other (they wouldn't be able to fall into the water on one side). I'll check it out and see if adding the rocks makes the map look/play better.

    Thanks!
