Ditch Created by David White Supported Gametypes: Capture the Flag Slayer Oddball Territories Assault King of the Hill When I started this map I had MLG in mind so the map will work well with MLG CTF, Slayer, Oddball and possibly King of the Hill. You don't have to use the MLG gametypes though, it works well with regular gametypes. Ditch is a fairly small map based on The Pit. It's actually quite a bit smaller than I expected it to be. It takes up half of Foundry, which is quite a large area but once you put all the walls and scenery in, it becomes much smaller. I haven't tried it with 4v4 games, I'm guessing it might be a bit too small. I'm not too sure what to say about this map, for my other maps there's always been something I could write a lot about. Access Grant has gates and switches, Lost Ground had asymmetric/symmetric scenery. Ditch has... its just a standard map, other than spending a long time trying to make flat floors and aligning the ramps and stair cases so you didn't have that jump when you come off them, there aren't really amazing features. Its just a normal map for normal gameplay which should be good fun to play on for a long time. I'll compare it to The Pit then! The main similarities between Ditch and The Pit are the 2 bases at ground level with platforms slightly higher in front of them. There is a rocket corridor along one side of the map and down the other side (where the sword room would be if I'd made it bigger) is a plasma pistol like on MLG Pit. Each team spawns close to a sniper rifle but no shotgun, a mauler can be found towards the centre of the map instead. Oo, pictures! _________________________________________________ 1 of 2 bases. You can see the bridge on the left has been interlocked at the height of the boxes for a smoother suface. Territories - there are only 3 plots in territories, 1 in each base and one in the middle. The interlocked bridge again. The fence boxes on the far left make up part of the Rocket Corridor wall. Rocket Corridor! Beware of snipers! The SPNKr! You can just see the stair case which leads up to the platform in front of the base. _________________________________________________ This map may also have the Juggernaut and VIP checkpoints set up, I forgot to check. If they are there, good. If they're not, it doesn't matter, you can still play Juggernaut or VIP without go-to points Download Ditch
Can you tell me how smooth you think the boxes are? I kept redoing a few of them but little bumps get popping up,
Can you please post an overview picture, I can't seem to get a feel of the map layout. From what I see though, it resembles the Pit, rockets in middle, bases.
Hey DMM White, I doubt you remember me, but I'm from H3Customs.com. We're making a good push to revive the site, but it's in a bit of trouble right now. Anyways, I love your blog (I made a similar one before I knew about yours), and this looks like a very good map. I'll give it a DL, forgethrough, and play it at a custom sometime.
