Well it looks like this topic was slow to get started but I'm glad people are beginning to check it out. I really enjoy Forging, and knowing that I do it well is just icing on the cake. Wonder, I watched the video of that game very meticulously. I wanted to know everything that was happening at all times so that I could get an even better feel for the map and how the game unfolded. The 14 minute video took me over an hour and a half to watch. Doing it like that gives you a very good sense of who in the game knows what they are doing and who is just running around looking for something to kill. You should try it some time.
This map has a very nice layout. For some reason, i didn't like territory number 3. i don't know why, but overall the map was fun to play on even though it was territories.
Dude I am completely honest when I say that you make amazing maps, both great gameplay wise and aesthetically pleasing... You clearly need to be guilder :squirrel_chatting: - Lemon :squirrel_rubberduck:
Thanks for the support guys. Yeah this map is great if you love competitive games with lots of different strategies. I've tested several times and it never goes the same way twice. I'm really proud of this one.
I haven't actually got around to playing this.. maybe during TGIF we could play some of your maps? I would like, and yes, you do deserve guilder.
I really like it =) for some reason the buildings remind me of my good ol' COD original days. two thumbs up!
The Furious Review By: JediWithASniper Here are my ratings, and review. Enjoyment: 8 out of 10 Balance: 6 out of 10 Durability: 8 out of 10 Aesthetics: 8 out of 10 Originality: 8 out of 10 This map had to be my favorite territories I have played. That said, it lacked very much in the area of balance between the attacker and defender. In all the rounds we played, the attacker one every time, almost without too much difficulty. This was not related in my opinion to how the map was set up, a tactical team with a plan would hold it down well, but the problem we encountered was that it was just too easy to capture a territory. The map seemed to me to work almost flawlessly, and you just can't choose which building you like the best. But my advice is that capture time should be a minimum of 20 seconds for a 4v4 match. I have rarely seen anyone implement a good map for a territories variant that has very distinguishable places of capture, and with a good creative edge. This map is a must for territories fans. My Overall Rating Is: 8 out of 10
Wow, this looks like a good map and different from your last one. I'm gonna download and play some terrortories* and some team king. I think that you could capture territory five right away and reall easily. i don't know if this is true, but im just looking through some of the epic pics.
Looks like a very well built map, I love design of most of the buildings. The repair shop is the only part that I am not all to found of. I will download it soon and give a full report so as of now a 4.7/5.
Did you use all of your objects on this map? It seems really open to me from the screens. I take it you where running low with your comments about "The barn"
Squidhands' Furiously Tentacular Review Man, do I wish that I was able to do a forgethrough before we played this. From looking at your original post, there was a lot that I missed. Going into a map blind will do nothing but wreck your k/d ratio. Enjoyment: The above comment aside, I still had fun on this map. I’m becoming a fan of Territories, and this went pretty fast. If I had done what I normally do and check out the map and weapon placement beforehand, I would have had even more fun. Durability: I didn’t see a way to break it, seeing as how the majority of Foundry is used. And since it’s Foundry, the structures are solid and can’t be ruined to the point of non-playability. Respawning wasn’t an issue; I don’t remember getting spawn-killed. Aesthetics: I liked the unique quality of each of the territory areas, they give you just enough to get a good bearing on where you are and where you should go. From afar it does seem rather empty, but if you’re sitting back just looking at stuff then you deserve to be assassinated by your teammates for not contributing to the fight. Originality: While city-style map layouts have been done (and featured), throwing in the Territories game gives it a nice fresh twist. Balance: I’m going to include the gametype in here, because it was the only thing that I thought didn’t work too well. Even though Territories is mainly an asymmetric game, it was almost turned into the opposite when we played. It was waaay to easy to capture a territory like some others have said. I’m still unfamiliar with the specifics with Territories setup, but if only one territory could be captured at a time it would seem to make for more intense localized battles. If that can’t be done, then you’ve done all you could have done. It was my only issue. I’m betting that Team King would be sweet here. Overall: As usual, Furious can deliver the goods when it comes to making an enjoyable map. As a Territories map it probably won’t get the love that it needs, but if my opinion matters, it’s worth the download.
Rick's Recap Overall Enjoyment Durability Aesthetics Originality Balance 7/10 8/10 9/10 6/10 6/10 8/10 Map Review Haiku: There are too many Syllables in the word Ter- ritories, you know? Review: I've only ever played one other map that was so directed at territories before. And it was my first forge map. And it was bad. And no, you can't see it. I deleted it when I saw how good some of the stuff here on FH was. Anyway... to the review. District Five was an excellent little map. The goal-points are placed so that there's a variety of capturing action, and I enjoyed every minute of the game. Not every second, but definitely every minute. The structures all make sense to me. I didn't see any problems with spawning or anything like that. This was obviously one of Furious' earlier maps. The ugly older brother to Unchained, perhaps. But Furious' sense of playability shows through on the whole map. I was really glad to see the warthog driving around between buildings and I wasn't disappointed by any of the weapon spawns. If you like territories, then what are you waiting for? Play this now. Rick's Suggestions: Can we get a cleaned-up and pimped-out version for the new millenium?
Actually Chunky, I'm thinking this is more like an ancestor to Furious' Exacted. Exacted has buildings/structures, like this map does, only they've been all twisted and picasso-ed.
Well, we couldn't do it without the support of people like you. Lol, anyway, what do you think this is? A conspiracy? Dude, we just thought it'd be fun to do one review session of our own maps, just one. It's not going to become a habit or anything. Chill.
Lol. I knew one of the Furious Review Hater-aters would chime in eventually this week. And it's not like his buddies aren't allowed to express their opinions on his maps... Picasso-ed. I think that's my word. You're right though. I just couldn't remember Exacted's name for some reason when I was writing the review. I wonder if territories plays as well on Exacted (I think we tried it once, but I can't remember how well it went.)
