I wasn't sure if this map was supposed to go into competative or casual, but I put it here since it doesn't really depend on a specific game type or anything. Distortion City A completely symmetrical map in Forge World with the concept based off of this map. Each team has identical cities perpendicular to each other. All the building are normal to the ground, but the ground is slanted at a π/4 angle, giving the illusion that you can run up walls. In the middle of the map is a sniper rifle and jetpack. The only starting armor ability is sprint. Gametypes for this map are: [Team] Glacial Slayer Pro Glacial CTF Pro or really any multiflag or slayer variant with only sprint as the armor ability Screenshots (click for link to screenshots on Bungie.net): A view from Blue Team's flag room An high-angle view showing most of the map A more level view An "overhead" view of Read Team's side (also identical to Blue Team's side) The whole world is tilted!! Unfortunately, setting weapons to fixed bugs them, so they kind of slide a little bit sometimes, but they don't move very far. [br][/br]Edited by merge: What happened to the replies to this? There was 3 before, now there aren't any
How exactly does setting weapons on fixed bug them? A solution would be to set it as fixed and when you're done with all of its information and stuff, without holding onto it, press X and switch it back to normal. Might work, I know that is how drop spawns work, and they shouldn't slide around at all unless they cannot "stand up" on a 45 degree angle. I like maps like these for fun games with my friends when we are bored, and I have found that height variation on these maps is a very good thing, because both sides will grow into one another. you might want to add more height just for lolz.
We had a game on this last night. I must say that it blew our minds. I love the way everyone looks running around at angles. I think everyone should download this and experience the weirdness.
Actually, that's exactly what I did. They float in Forge, but when you do a custom game, they just fall right away And if you set the physics to fixed, they will float in the air when dropped, and if you're playing over Xbox Live or through system link, it causes synchronization problems, so it should be avoided That's actually pi/4 (as in 45 degrees). Lower case pi just looks dumb in this font.
