Okay, so I'm 3/4 of the way through my latest map which everyone whose seen has been very impressed with. I was showing some people it and noticed a little adjustment that needed to be made so I corrected it and saved. Little did I know that when other people enter your party on this kind of stacked, glitched map it deletes every object that isn't stacked from the inventory and restricts you from creating any more. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm guessing theres no cure.. So I can either start again ( ugghh! ) or carry on with a much less varied collection of objects, objects like frags, loads of weapons and building parts that are used in every map are missing.. I'm so gutted. Edit to show how much work I put in :
I've noticed that on a budget glitched canvas when other people join the party most of the objects are no longer able to be created. I accidentally saved once on my map DuneScape while someone else was in the party. Fortunately when I loaded the map up in a party by myself the issue was resolved. On the objects that can no longer be made, have the runtime maximums been reset or are they still one higher than what is on the map?
They've been reset. edit : Oh no, the objects that can still spawn are still glitched. Objects that aren't stacked have been reset.
I feel your pain. That map looks amazing so far. Restarting it may seem like a huge undertaking, but building it the second time around should go much, much faster now that you know how you built everything.
I spose I can make it better next time.. its just so annoying!! Btw, just realised I posted this in the halo forum rather than forge. My bad, I was very enraged whilst posting I didn't notice.
I usually have about ten versions of whatever map I am making. I learned the hard way a long time ago. The pics looks pretty cool though.
Well I feel your pain. My Template map was deleted. Not by my mistake, but overwritten by a completely different map. I know. It sucks. Now I cringe every time I save a map. I hope this comes out even better if you decide to re create it.
This happened to me. Funny thing is that my friends were able to create the objects that I was restricted to. Try having a friend join and make tons of items that you need.
That's why I don't invite people to my forging sessions... but yea, I hope you get it to work again..
I'll try that mikelp but I'm not getting my hopes up. If not I'll start again this weekend, thanks for everyone's kind words. Tis apreciated.
yea, I feel sorry for you man,it happened to me once. I just never stopped And it turned out better. All I can sa is sorry and It will be even better this time.
I remade the map and your right, it is now much better. Just posted it for the TG, next tuesday if anyone's interested.
I think there is a real issue here with using budget glitches. I'm probably speaking for a minority but i am a firm believer that they aren't even helpful. More so on Sandbox, the budget limit is hardly a restriction when it comes to Forge. I would never put a lot of hours of work at risk of complete destruction by using a budget glitched map, only to gain a few extra objects. I find it much more exciting having to plan my map around my budget, and knowing that every item i place has to be utlizied as much as possible. On rare occurance they can be a necessity, but i'm seeing a lot of new Forgers using them blindly, when they don't realize that they won't even need what it offers.
I agree, i almost lost everything on my map, i placed one large box with oh i think it was 71$ left on the budget glitched canvas, then after i placed it i lost all my money, and i had a ton of obj's left that i needed to use. But upon inspection of the stacked obj's some of them were not even glitched deleting them gave me money back??? I have made big arena style maps without the glitched map. To me its too much trouble than its worth.
You've got valid points matty but I knew before hand I would need all the objects I could get for this map. I would have added more to my latest version but I ran out of items and that was on a glitched map. I enjoyed only having a random assortment of stacked objects that I hadn't used yet left to make the blue base. It makes you much more creative with your forging, rather than just using the same objects you always use.
