I'm currently making a map where I want to use a couple vehicles for scenery but disable them to where a player cannot drive or shoot with them (turrets/scorpions). I know you can disable vehicles for gameplay, however I still want to be able to use vehicles that each team is given. Does anyone know of any special tips or tricks to make this happen? I'm trying to see if a kill volume inside the seat of the vehicles would work but its not... Any help would be much appreciated.
if we had trait zones we could, but not until then. Best we can do is just set them to fixed so they can't move.
Invisible barriers or the 'fixed' physics option are currently the only choices I'm aware of to achieve your desired effect.
Where are these vehicles relative to the rest of your playable space such that players can still enter them?
I currently have the vehicles throughout the map, theyre suppose to look knocked out. They have smoke effects on or near them. I have them on phased physics and you can still enter ill try fixed. As for invisible barriers thats a good idea. I already tried it and you either a ridiculously large invisible blocker so you cannot get the "press x to enter the vehicle", but when its that big you can jump on top of the blocker or you cant go anywhere near the vehicle and it looks ridiculous.
In some testing I've done having objects phased in Warthog and Mongooses tends to keep me from getting in or flipping them, but more so in matches than in Forge. Not sure why it lets me use them in Forge.
