Ok,I read a story by aesop and I notied the about the author. I have limited knowledge on the subject,but heres what a know: Aesop was is the name of a writer that may or may not have existed. If he existed they say he lived in the time of the ancient greeks. he wrote hundreds of storys including (how I learned about him) the fox and the crow. It is highly debated if he truely did exist. the most widly accepted theory s that the greeks invinted an imagonary author for there many storys. thats all I know. disscus.
It does appear that he is to fables as "Traditional" is to songs. That doesn't necessarily mean he didn't exist. It is a tricky thing, history...
I'm not so sure if this is a debate, just more of a trying to prove to ourselves that he really did exist.
