Desolation is a forerunner based, symmetrical map with generic aesthetics; the map is built for 1v1, Team Doubles, Multi Team (2:4) and CTF (2:4). The map is divided into two levels; the centre linked by raised walkways. There are four rooms jutting all-around on the lowest level where; depending on the gametype, teams of two spawn.

Players can reach the central platform by either ramp or Gravity Lift, which is located in a room linked by multiple doorways in the centre surrounded by elevated platforms.

Automated Turrets; again, depending on the gametype, are positioned just outside each teams base. However the turrets at the beginning of a game take a short while to charge, players can wait to deploy these to help protect their flag or rush the nearest base for a quick drop on an opposing team, this will however leave you base undefended and leave your flag valuable to capture, you could choose to divide yourselves; one goes on the attack while the other defends, this however also comes with it’s disadvantages.

Desolation was inspired by the last length of a Spartan Ops mission in episode 9 chapter 5, Halo 4 and Halo 2’ Foundation. There were some issues with lag during editing, however when I tested this map in a 1v1 match, although there was lag evident in the loading screen there was none during gameplay.
