Sure, go ahead. There is absolutely no format or anything required as long as it's not done in Forge.

    Two questions about my restrictions...

By "4 explosive power weapons" do you mean 4 different explosive power weapons, or can there be repeats? Also, do Railguns, Needlers, Gravity Hammers, and Spartan Lasers count as explosive?

For the layout, how loosely should the layout resemble the country? On a scale of 10 being identical twins and 1 being a 1st grader's drawing of the country.

Im really sorry for wasting you guy's time, but im afraid i wont have time to do a sketch worth entering with my midterms coming up, so someone who didnt make the cut can take numbers 8 and 8.

Sorry again, didnt realize until now that the midterms were so close, and I wouldnt be able to let myself submit work that wasnt quality, so 8 and 8 are up for grabs

We've extended the deadline by two weeks. Hopefully this gets you the time to complete the sketch :)

Yes to Railguns. Needlers, Gravity Hammers, and Spartan Lasers don't count. Repeats are OK, although four rocket launchers will probably cause gameplay issues. :(

Since its obviously a lot easier to use straight lines for sketch/Sketchup/forging, you don't have to worry about all the little curves. Basically, as long as we're able to recognize which country you chose to use, you're good :)

Sweet. This is going to be hard showing in design but challenge accepted. :)

I asked this before but it was in an edit and i'm not sure it got answered. May we use for as the 3d design tool? :p I won't use aesthetics or anything, just to take pictures and show detention.

So i can take pictures with my phone or scan my images. Can we touch them up in photoshop? I used mechanical pencils and it 's hard to see well. I also want to color certain elevations and parts of the map. It would be easier to add colors with photoshop. I drew the weapons and lines to their locations, but also have text describing some things which would look better typed. If someone uses Sketchup, they have the ability to add text and weapon images for descriptions. I'm just wondering if that will help the overall appearance and if it is allowed if you choose to draw.

Of course. Basically anything is allowed if it benefits the understanding of the design/layout. Also I haven't discussed this with Spin or Goat yet, but I have no problem with you typing a few notes in your submission post to go along with the pictures instead of actually adding the text to the images themselves, if that's easier for you.

Hmmm... I'll have to get back to you ;)
But for the time being I'll say this: You can include pictures of the forge as long as you also have a sketch/sketchup to go along with it.

Just a quick update folks. We'll have the submission thread up in a few days at the most. We also may have a few more constraints to hand as well, so be sure to check in if you're still waiting.

I'm third in the waiting list for more constraints, so how much time do you reckon I'll have between being told the constraints and submitting the sketch?

Of course, I say this assuming you've come up with more constraints. Don't worry too much if you haven't. I know it's hard to do!

I could pop off a bunch of constraints. Hit me up if you need help with the next comp. It wouldn't be fair since i'm in this one.

Good news guys! Special thanks to Dizzyman, Tacoguy, Suffocation, Wakko, and Mazdak for giving us some ideas for more constraints! We should hopefully have a few more out soon to get those who still need them.

To anyone just now getting theirs: If you want to discuss another possible deadline extension, we're all ears :)

Also, the submission thread is now up.

Yay! Thanks for coming up with some more constraints. I'm really looking forward to designing this. I think all six of those new constraints are really good. I'm expecting a city map with a sewer from Elliot, for some reason...

One question regarding my blue constraint: do you consider the Guardian drop-down to Shotgun hallway, a dead end?

That's actually the example we had in mind when we came up with this one. However, it couldn't hurt to try and explore some other possibilities as well :)

I am going to hand sketch mine I think. Sketchup and I don't work well together.

DC has unfortunately informed me that he will not have the time to work on his anymore, and gave me the go ahead to let the next person on the list adopt his constraints!

Sorry, but I believe we won't be making new spots, sorry :( . Next time we will create more spots before-hand seeing how many people are actually interested in participating.

Note to people with constraints already. You already signed up and are strongly obliged to create a submission. If not, you are just being that guy in the front of McDonald's who can't decide what he's going to get. Don't be that guy :)

Nah I wasn't asking for you to make new spots, seeing if there were any left...I guess not:(
