So, upon finally getting this forum after hassling the peeps upstairs (<3 you guys), I thought I'd probably better get around to posting in it.

Dallas is starting tomorrow, and aside from the last ever Halo 3 Nationals, there's going to be a Reach exhibition event which is shaping up to be pretty entertaining (apart from the fact that it's sadly sticking with the v1.1 settings). You can find the full list of attendees here (props to INE_xReason over at MLG for compiling this thread and keeping it up to date), but notable appearances include Heaven and Earth who have picked up Ghost after Str8 disbanded (not sure on the status of that, I've heard from some that it's just until next season, but others say T2 is out of the game altogether, either way he's gonna be coaching SQ at Dallas), and Power are another team I'm keen to watch in the transition to Reach. Also, I'm sure plenty of people will be excited to watch Perfect Storm return with Naded and Legit side by side once more, with Karma and KillerDrew rounding out the squad. With 4 players like that it's kinda hard not to be rooting for them, and I'm personally hoping that Reach will see Karma finally back where he belongs, firmly in the top 8/4.

Dallas will finally see some established names playing Reach, and it'll be interesting to see how they adapt to the new game in its early days, even though the game looks set to change a decent amount with the release of v2 settings after Dallas (if you want to check out/discuss these v2 settings, have a look at this thread). Post your thoughts on what exactly we'll see come this weekend, predictions for placings, who you'll be watching out for etc.

Every time I click over to the Reach stream it's a bunch of names I don't recognize or care about spamming DMRs. Hard to follow a tournament like that, especially since I prefer announcers.

Sadly very true, people have been bitching on the MLG forums about how randoms are on the stream when we could be watching Perfect Storm, HaE or Power, sentiments I echo tbh. It seems like they're desperately trying to keep us watching H3 by making the Reach stream suck as much as possible.

I tend to stick to the simplest answers rather than suggest that there's some conspiracy to force viewership of Halo 3. Seems more likely to me that only one or two stations for Reach play are hooked up to streaming, and which teams get to play on the stream is pretty much determined by the bracket and scheduling. Lots of teams, little time, they can't afford to leave stations idle while they wait for premier teams to finish the game they're in and move to the broadcast station.

Lol, I was kidding tbh, just venting frustration at the whole thing. More than anything, it just seems like what you say about basically having to share stations with H3, meaning there are fewer overall then there were for just one Halo game and so it's harder to move it all around to ensure the best stream. Still, kinda gutting though, but I'm happy to hear that Power are doing well, they knocked PS in to the LB yesterday.

So I get on my computer today, click over to the Reach stream, and see:
So much for Power are doing well lol. Apparently Victorious Secret knocked them to loser's and then Darkest Hour knocked them out completely. At least it's two well known teams that beat them.

Dang, had hopes that they might make finals. You're right about at least some well known teams making it far enough to be the ones who knock them out though, I wasn't sure about DH after they lost Noob as well, but it sounds like they're adjusting well enough to Reach.
