Hey, I finished a map on Foundry a few days ago and I am now working on making it compatible with Slayer, CTF, etc.

I am working CTF at the moment but I am having some big problems with spawn zones. I am sure I am using all the right types of spawn zones such as Respawn, Flag Home and Respawn, Flag Away and my map is empty except for the playable area.

Edit: This is for Multi-Flag CTF.

    Flag Not Stolen:
    1. I kill somebody on the attacking team and they respawn outside the map where the respawn zone for default Foundry would be in CTF.
    2. I kill somebody on the defending team and they respawn in their Respawn, Flag Away zone.

    Flags Stolen:
    1. I kill somebody on the attacking team and they respawn outside the map where the respawn zone for default Foundry would be in CTF.
    2. I kill somebody on the defending team and they respawn in their Respawn, Flag Away zone.

The only respawns currently working are the inital spawns which are both placed in the Respawn, Flag Home zones for Attacking and Defending teams.

Any help would be appreiciated, I've tried everything.

First of all make sure you have respawn points in all of the areas. Here is how spawn selection works in Halo 3 for CTF:

When you die selection goes through the following priorities from top to bottom:

    - Flag Home area set for your team with highest priority (if the flag is at home) OR Flag Away area set for your team with the highest priority (if the flag is away)
    - Respawn Area set for your team with highest priority
    - Respawn Area set for neutral with highest priority

It moves from area to area based on threat. If there are 2 Flag Home areas set for defenders, and one is set with spawn order 1 and one is set with spawn order 2 you will spawn at spawn order 1. But if there is an enemy that spawns in spawn order 1 then you spawn in spawn order 2... that is how threat works. Highest Priority is 1, lowest is 10, and 0 is random.

Ok, it doesn't spawn players outside the playable area anymore but now:

    Flag Not Taken:
    1. Spawns in Home 1 at start.
    2. After killed, spawns in Home 1 or Home 2 BUT sometimes player also spawns in Away 1.

    Flag Taken:
    1. After killed, blue spawns in Away 2 or Home 1.
    2. After killed, red spawns in Away 1, Away 2 or Home 1.

Man this is getting annoying.. Lol.

You may want to add a normal spawn area for each team that would use if there home/away spawn areas were taken. However, they always may spawn in the away or the home, because Halo's spawn system is always trying to find a safe spawn point. If you place more spawns in your spawn area and/or change it's size, you can make it easier for Halo to find a safe spawn.

Thanks for the help. I might consider just leaving it how it is since the map is a very small map so it is not much trouble getting from place to place.
