    click and drag the layer onto the new layer button. This will duplicate it.

    I just grab the move tool, the one at the top right of the tool palette, and drag and drop it onto your canvas.

    Nevermind, Zerosun beat me to it. lol

    TBH, I prefer Cs2 of Cs3. Not because I'm used to it either, but things I usually do on CS2 don't turn out so good on CS3.

    (EG Gradient maps are...different.)

    So I'll try and help, hopefully it'll be similar. (If you have anymore questions)

    When I try to bucket fill, it fills with a pattern instead of a color.

    Check your top bar, make sure nothing is set to pattern or anything.

    I dont know how it is for CS3 as I have elements 6.0 but for me I always make sure I have these ticked.

    Top left it might say pattern change it to foreground.

    You guys are the bomb! Seriously.


    It won't let me fill the background with the paint bucket. Ill click, but nothing happens.

    The background layer is locked. How do I unlock it?

    EDIT: I can't find the smudge tool. Also, how do I use brushes?

    Just like the paint bucket the smudge is under the rain drop looking one right click it. By under I mean you need to choose it.

    Brushes are next to the bandaid looking thing then top left click arrow and choose.

    What about the brushes? They're all greyed out, and I can't click anything.
