Hello ForgeHub users. We are TheHaloGMF and this will be our first official channel-based posting on ForgeHub. Before we begin, we would like to highlight a few things. Some of our groups players (Robius5991) and (ares7991), have already posted some of their maps on their own FH accounts, so we will not be re-posting these, but rather give a link to them on our signature. Some of our team members may continue to post on their own accounts, and in that case, the links to those posts will be added to our signature. Otherwise, the rest of TheHaloGMF maps will be posted from this account. Also, disregard the account's gamertag. The whole credit for each individual map goes to the Forger named below. Now that everything's cleared up, let us begin with the map's presentation.

    Map name: Crytania

    Forger: Tikitorch25623

    Intro:

This being our first post, we would also like to mention that since this is a group-based account, most of our members will be posting maps here, so we will always specify the map creator's gamertag. Crytania is Tikitorch25623's first feature on our account and we hope that he will continue with the great work! So, let's start with the description!

    The map (Crytania):

To begin, it must be understood that although the gametype above is described as Team slayer, we really mean Big Team Battle, as the map is rather large. Tiki's back-story describes this ancient facility as a mysterious Forerunner power station, located on one of the newly discovered Halos. The map features massive structures built into the mountains along with many interesting energy-creating machines. The hills offer a natural look to the map, while also being very good cover and offering a mixed terrain. Vehicle use is encouraged with passage-ways permitting circuit-like manoeuvres around the battlefield. Although large, the map is rather easy to traverse, having a few side routes, including a two-way teleporter node. Aesthetically, the map gives a pleasant backdrop to the brutal battles that the gameplay forces on the players. Soldiers from both teams can take possession of the different buildings, such as the Bunker, the Power generation station and the mountain-side facility, gathering a large array of weaponry as they lead their charge. The map also offers great line of sight breakers, along with a few risk-vs-reward systems for power weapon pickup.

    The gametype (Big Team Battle):

Although the map technically playable with a basic Team Slayer gametype (4v4) it is truly much better suited for the matchmaking-regulated BTB (8v8). Currently, this slayer-type gametype is the only fonctioning gamemode for the map, however Tikitorch25623 has hinted as to adding a few objective gametypes along with the possibility of Multi-Team. If players do not download the regulated Big Team Battle gametype from Matchmaking, we suggest using DMRs and Magnums as the two weapons, along with the basic armour ability classes used in Team Slayer.

A large overview of the map and its layout.

The mountain-based facility (designated as Blue base by its lighting).

The multi-leveled facility has a few different openings, two located at the lookout, near the Hammer-spawn at the very top.

An upper of the same structure shows the two openings which lead to the lookout point, a very good sniping area.

This is the garage entry-way to Blue base, also possessing two doorways and a Warthog spawn.

At the very back of Blue base, a man-cannon can lead you up to the next floor, where the shotgun spawns behind a ramp.

Located behind the right corridor of Blue base is a cavern tunnel.

By following the tunnel, you reach a two-way teleporter node. Warning: the cave is out of bounds, to avoid camping. (10 second soft kill).

The bunker building which has three floors that are each separated from each other.

The main floor has a televised screen for communication purposes.

Following through the main floor, players find cover from multiple columns and a few rooms filled with various weapons.

The main floor exits near a parking area for the Ghost.

The second floor has a Grenade Launcher and Magnum spawn. The crack in the middle pillar allows players to throw grenades through to one of the two entries.

The third floor can be reached by jumping on the crates or the braces. A turret is stationed at the top and a sniper can be found under the angled tower.

In the middle of the map, a glass adorned structure is positioned. It holds a Spartan Laser and a health pack, also acting as good cover against snipers.

On the opposing end of the center-map, we find the Power Generation station.

The main floor is accessed by two ramps and houses a Sniper rifle along with a few other weapons. The windows allow for a strong position to be held.

In the basement, there are multiple entry-ways (one which leads to a Warthog spawn) and an awesome power-generating Forerunner device.

On the left lip of the map we find a bridge-covered tunnel and a control tower.

On the bridge, a Rocket Launcher spawns and in background we can see another Power-structure, built into the mountains of the valley.

This angle shows the entry of the Control tower (also a Grenade launcher spawn) and at the tip we find the other end of the two-way teleporter node, connecting both opposing sides of the map.

Through another cavern tunnel, we find a storing device which holds a Sniper Rifle. Behind it is located a man-cannon which leads close to the Bunker.

A special thanks to Tikitorch25623 (He's the Red) for being our first feature on ForgeHub. [Picture of us testing his map]

We hope that these pictures give you all a good idea of how the map looks and how nicely it is built. During testing, we saw that at the beginning teams stayed together and held position in their bases, but within a minute a few troops were able to break their positions and chaos broke out. People were in squads leading diverse attacks all over the map at the same time. The end result was a very amusing and competitive gameplay. Each test led to a very small victory by the victorious team (Example: 100 - 97 or 100 - 95). Teams kept gaining and loosing the lead and the process was repeated over and over. The nice spread of weapons allows for both team to always possess a few and ended up really evening out the experience. Following the tests, we asked players what they thought and the overall consensus was that the map was rather competitive but still very enjoyable.

We would like to thank all the great players who helped us test the map. Thank you for your feedback and the great matches we played!

    Weapon List:
    Sniper Rifle: 3
    Rocket Launcher: 1
    Greande Launcher: 2
    Gravity Hammer: 1
    Spartan Laser: 1
Percision Weapons (DMR - Needler Rifle): Plenty
Other Weapons: (Spiker - Assault Rifle - others): Plenty

    Conclusion:

Well, I believe we have reached the end of TheHaloGMF's very first post on ForgeHub. We hope you have enjoyed Tikitorch25623's first map's showcase and we hope that if you download it you may all have the same great experience we had while testing! Please leave your feedback as we will make sure each player who makes their map receives it!
