Well regardless of what he did, my point still stands though I do think he always mentioned who it was by. Either way, as a general rule: if you give credit, it's like remaking Bungie's map because you've stated it's not your own, that it's a remake, etc. Because an official map IS official, simply stating "this is a remake of Lockout" is enough for most people to go "oh okay" but there IS difference between official maps and forgers' maps. That difference is simply that you need to say "this is a remake of _____ by _____." If you do that....it should be fine and no one should be 'offended' or 'upset' that they weren't consulted. If it's a vanity thing -- too bad. If it's because they were going to remake their map for this game then it doesn't matter -- the original creators' map would be the 'official' version of the remake while the other forgers was like any remake of an official map. It's like a remake of Ivory Tower in Halo 4 by someone on here but then they bring back IT/Reflection officially and rename it Atrium or whatever. I feel like I'm in the minority which is strange since I like to draw a lot and thus have work I would not like to see taken and pretended it was someone else's however if I was to make a webcomic about say Star Wars and someone did fanart of my work (as in draw Vader in the same way I did) as long as he gave me credit then that's fine. But that's just my two cents.
