Crossroads [Sketchup]

    I generally don't like close maps, but every now and then I have an urge to try and make one, I thre this together in like five minutes and I wanted to see how people would respond to it, comments and suggestions appreciated.

    This map would be in the enclosed in the clifface, so it would have a fake floor and the real floor.
    The map overview: Semetrical multi objective two sided gametype compliant.

    Blue and Red bases are carbon copy of one another so showing both would be silly.

    Between the bases on the main level is a semi large open area I call the courtyard, it's open, however rocket/plasma spawn in the center.

    The lower level houses the more close cover based combat people like, shotguns and ARs reign here. The picture in question show none of the many cubes and posts obscuring the view of the other side's entrance into the lower level. I removed them for ease of viewing.

    The catwalk may provide some cover and a semi quick way back to the base but it's open as well. I think maybe a sniper rifle will sit here.

    Looks hella small to be honest. With jetpacks and sprint, i would say you need to make the bases a little farther apart and make a couple more paths. But, i do like how the design is so far. Good luck with making the finished product once reach comes out.

    Update: Taking your suggestions I added more paths, and as the name implies They are all crossing one another.

    The new map has many paths, all lead one way or another to the bases. Go high, Go around, go low, go straight, you can do it. The map is SLIGHTLY larger than the other but is based more on 3D combat more than what's right in front of you.

    The bases with the new config need some tweaking and when the game comes out I'll be working with a bigger screen than this piddly little monitor here so the ramps and various levels will all mesh together to make a mass of paths from base to base.

    Also working on the lower levels, I may make it less straightforward and more puzzle like. Until reach comes out I cannot say for certain I'll keep it the peg like structures down below.


    Once again any suggestions and comments greatly appreciated, the more you ask and tell me, the better I can make this map.
