CREEPA Map Presented By ClassicRockRnum7 (GT= JSlayer7)DOWNLOAD EDITTED VERSION HERE Description: Creep is quite a unique map. It is an asymmetrical ascending structure that gets it name from gameplay that involved fast-paced and short-cornered outcomes. This is the first map by me that I feel deserves to be on ForgeHub. I spent about 15+ hours creating the map itself in forge, so this did not include designing it, making it compatible and fun for each gametype, etc. I have already played this map with a lot of my friends and they all commented very positively about it. I hope you enjoy it as well! On to the map layout. The base floor contains short-range power weapons to fit the feel of the battles. Along the sides of the floor, there are "hallways" which lead to intersected stairs that allow you to access the second floor. Explosives are provided throughout the map, and because of its size, when one explosion happens in one area, chains of explosions may go off! Now, there are only TWO shotguns with very long respawn times, making the map more balanced than before. There are also a considerable amount of grenades because they serve to be essential to Creep's gameplay. You may find shield doors useful for grenade bouncing and these are placed to encourage that. The main items of importance on the first floor are the Energy Sword and the Gravity Hammer. What grabs people's attention in this map is the second floor because there is a Rocket Launcher at the top. This is strategically placed over a gaping hole, which is the center of gameplay in Creep. This, along with the Active Camo, are the items of importance on the second floor. Weapons and Items: 6 Spike Grenades 6 Plasma Grenades 4 Frag Grenades 2 Maulers 2 Shotguns 1 Flamethrower 1 Gravity Hammer 1 Energy Sword 1 Rocket Launcher 1 Active Camo 1 Power Drainer 1 Trip Mine 1 Flare Compatible Gametypes: ALL Gametypes are compatible with Creep. Recommended Gametypes: The ideal gametypes to be played are any kinds of free-for-all gametypes. These include: Slayer Oddball King of the Hill Juggernaut What My Friends Have Said: "This map is the best map I have ever seen built from the ground up! Awesome!" -Madmax5700 "Dude, wow, this map is amazing." -UEG eminemcrony "I have never seen something so amazing im my life." -Mister Gigglez Overview: The second floor overview. 2nd floor looks good...wish i could see more of the first floor though.. good use of interlocking! and welcome to ForgeHub! another thing that really caught my eye was your weapon distribution? I don't mean to be rude in any way... but i wont play this map because it doesnt seem like it would be much fun with 7 shottys, a hammer, sword, multiple maulers... waaay too many power weapons for what seems like a somewhat small map. you might want to think about revising it a bit.
Thank you LIGHTSOUT! I can try to add some screenshots of the cramped areas later... although it will be hard to do so because of how small it is. And about the power weapons, most games, half of them aren't even used because of placement. And since the shotguns are spawn corresponding, everyone will usually have one at all times. The Maulers and Sword usually aren't involved, so the only weapons used (at least from my experiences) are the Shotties, Rockets, and Gravity Hammer. So, and I don't mean to be rude either, I would really like to keep them there for interest purposes...
lol yeah it took a very long time to make... ONE MORE IMPORTANT EDIT: This map has been ranked among the Top 5 Maps submitted this week in a Map Promotion Thread. I am happy to say that my map is here because it is with other awesome maps, like End of the Line, UNSC Facility V2, I Am Legend V3, and Slopes V2.
hey this is a pretty good map i recommend it to everyone too many shotguns though looking forward to playing this wit you hopefully on friday
As said above, the shotties aren't just supposed to sit there in random spots to pick, but serve as everyone's primary weapon when they spawn. I tested it out with some parties and they all seemed to like it...But I understand where you are coming from. Maps with balance usually work best. When I make a second version, shotties will be lessened to either 1 or 2.
Why don't you just take them out then? If you always have access to a shotgun, it defeats the purpose of having Maulers, Swords, and Hammers since they are inferior.
You wrote somewhere about having maulers next to an OS. Thats a bad idea. It kind of defeats the purpose of OS. It should me a long way away from any remotely powerful weapon.
This map reminds a bit of headlong... i have no idea why. This looks great and i'm definetly dowloading.
I tried this out and hated it....No one used anything but shottys and camped and it was not fun at all...
I would restrict the shotgun amount to 2...at the most in a map like this. Try placing more dual wield weapons on the map, they'd be very useful in a tight map like this. And I agree with moving the mauler away from the overshield. That can be an overpowering combination.
Weird mixed replies, but... THE MAP HAS BEEN EDITTED: TWO shotguns now, Long Respawn Time No Overshield. Replaced some frags with Spike Grenades. And thanks to those who have been RESPECTFUL in their criticism. I appreciate it.
