Crag Mountain

    Hello everyone. I always like the Island section on Forgeworld, and wanted to create a map, but I was afraid that any attempt would end up looking to much like Paradiso. While messing around with architecture I decided to use the gully (where the bridge is normally on Paradiso) and the Island (where the Big structure is on Paradiso) as the location of the [main] bases. I also wanted it focused on the Mountain, so I present you, The Crag.

    As you can immediately see, there is a disc on the hill. This is a key point for anyone with a sniper/BR/Splazer although there is little cover and only a Pistol spawns up there.

    You can see the ramp leading up there (the man cannon takes you to the base of the ramp. As well as a near by long bridge which contains a Splazer. The three room piece is to create a ledge facing Red Base (Blue has the natural cliffs).

    There is also a giant jump from the rock (which has some added rocks for easier climbing). Which throws you to the top. It is quite a leap, but don't worry, you'll make it.

    This brings us to the Bases.

    Due to the surrounding mountain paths, Blue base has some extra cover, so they are not always camped. It may look inaccessible with it hanging there, but there is a front entrance, the back entrance with the rocks, or if you go under the side ramps, there is...

    A one way shield door with a lift up. To get out there is a one way teleporter leading to the top.

    Red base is a base made from three spiral stairs, with a helipad on the top. It is in a more open area than Blue, so there is a rock facing up to provide a little cover. Notice the bridge (vehicles run over it fine) as well as the small ramp near the back of the base for a quick 2nd floor get-in.

    Inside is pretty simple, the flag spawns on the rock (you can get to it easily).

    In a four way CTF or Slayer game, there are two other bases, which contain some tactical advantages (Snipers and vehicles).

    Green base is mostly human themed (Sniper/BR/Turret), and a reverent spawns near the front.

    Orange base is Covie themed (Focus Rifle/Needle Rifle/Plasma Turret) and has two ghost on the sides.

    Each base has the same structure, with an airlift leading to the top, and on the second floor there is a teleporter which leads to this room.

    It contains a shield powerup. I created this room so there might be an extra danger when using the teles. I didn't want instant access across the map, but this is quicker and adds some danger with people meeting in a small space. [This was originally the connecting tunnel through the mountain, but I didn't want false signs on the motion trackers, so this is in the Arena area. The path through the mountain is blocked off.

    This map is for Team games, although there is a lot spread out, so even a large FFA Slayer would work. Thanks for your time, enjoy.
