The covenant are on the Quito space tether, and you have to defend it. You are the last living humans within two miles, up or down. You are the only thing standing between the covenant and certain victory. You'd better do your job right. Covenant on a ship is a fast-paced infection gametype, involving the covenant. It is from a similar vein as the popular 'asset', using a similar class-based system for the covenant. Each covenant soldier, alone, is capable of taking out two marines. The only way for the marines to survive is to use teamwork and cover effectively. The orbital map supports 8 players, and I am currently working on a second map to go with the gametype. The marines spawn at the back of one of the orbital corridors, with the door blocked off. They must quickly take what weapons are there, and set themselves up for an attack. The covenant spawn in a 'spawn room', filled with weapons for the covenant to use. Some lucky players will spawn in a 'class room', being either a zealot or a sharpshooter. Zealots are armed with overshields, plasma rifles and swords, and Sharpshooters with beam rifles, active camo, and carbines. The covenant must charge the marines, whittling down their health (human shields do not regenerate), until there is only one left. This 'last man' becomes a spartan, fully capable of defeating two or three covenant soldiers alone. The covenant spawn room, showing plasma rifles and carbines. A marine killing an angry covenant soldier. A marine blasting an elite to oblivion. A charging covenant soldier, unaware of what's about to penetrate his skull. An elite, charging the last man with his sword. A battle between two marines and an elite. A zealot, showing off his overshields and the covenant one-way spawn door. Me as an elite, walking away from my latest kill. a sharpshooter and zealot, charging into battle. The class spawns- Ultra on the right, Sharpshooter on the right. Classes were a late addition to the gametype, and unfortunately, I had to improvise the walls for the class spawns. It is impossible to escape, covenant have 150% gravity, Humans have 200%. The impenetrable wall of power (right), and the covenant spawn exit (left). It's called the impenetrable wall of power, because I gave a friend 1 hour within gametype settings to escape the map. He cursed the wall repeatedly. A view down the corridor from the covenant side. This is the last thing most covenant will see. A view down the corridor from the human side. Note the shotgun (no spare clips) on the left. A good look at the human spawn. The laser and Sniper can be seen. No weapons are overpowering for either side. Victory lies only in preperation on the marine's part. EDIT- Minor changes have been made to the map and gametype. Instead of zealots, there are ultras, having more shields which can regenerate. Marines can now use covenant weapons.
well you didnt show too much of the map from those pics cuz they were mostly action shots. Personally i am not a fan of infection maps because i seem to see the same sort of thing from all of them. I am waiting to be WOWed by an infection map. This map may have a lot of fun gameplay on it but i still want to see something that i have never before seen in an infection map. Good job, and i hope all of those infection lovers dowload this map!
So this is like e Holdout type game here. Seems interesting. I may give it a try or two. But a request. Can you post pictures of the changes you made to the map?
Y r there snipers on this map and a sharpshooter class for the covenant? THis map is not good for snipers and I honesty cannot see much form what youve shown me. Embed pics that show how the map goes and then i will dl. welcome to FH
I'll post pictures of the map design from forge mode, so you can see the spawns as well. The covenant sharpshooter class balances the human sniper rifle pretty well. a decent sharpshooter can take out a sniper, so be careful. There's plenty of cover to hide behind, which is the main thing you should be doing as a marine. Also, the sniper has only 4 shots, and does not respawn for two minutes, and by then, the humans are probably either dead or about to die.
