This actually started as a remake of my last map Eagle Six, but everything changed so extensively that it kind of became it's own new map. It's on the large side so it's ideally suited for Big Team gametypes but it's not too big for regular Slayer game types as well(atleast I don't think). Anyway this is Cordon. Ok, so this is in the Canyon. You can see the red and blue towers. It was named Cordon because of that giant ass gate I had to build to enclose the area. I found that my biggest problem when making maps is making them too big so I really tried to constrict the area in this one. That force field gate thingy was the best looking method I found of blocking off the space. It's high enough to block even the banshees from escaping. It also keeps the mongul hordes at bay. Sniping is not exclusive but it is prominent and the map is built around it. This is the garage. Basically a neutral base. Blue base and garage. Red Base I tried to make driving vehicles pretty sweet on this. You can do some pretty tight moves around the towers. Not too tight though. Garage Interior teleporters. Tower interior ground level elevator. This thing has: Weapons: Sniper Rifles: 6 Rocket Launchers: 2 DMRs: 5 Grenade Launchers: 1 Vehicles: Warthogs: 2 Mongeese: 4 Banshee: 2 Cordon.
I agree with powerspartan, even without trying it, I can already tell that whoever spawns at the bottom is doomed from the start. No cover, especially with banshees and any ranged weapons. I'd also add that all areas are too linear in pathing. I could predict exactly where my enemy could get to me, either above or below too, and with z-dimensions in the radar now, I don't even need to guess. A big step in making great maps is putting several different paths where you can get to the same place. Right from the screenshots, I could know and predict exactly where my enemy is going to end up. It also feels empty for a map with so many structures, I'd suggest spreading it out instead of concentrating all of your objects in one-spot areas where everything is, and yet right next to it is nothing but blank space. I'll still need to go into it to check it out, but for now, I can't, so hopefully this helps a bit.
