The first thing I wanted to do when I saw Forge World for the first time was make a racetrack, so here's my first one in Reach, Concrete Mountain. It's similar to a Mario Kart map, DK Mountain, which served as my inspiration, you could say. It's pretty simplistic, but I'm happy with it considering it's my first in Reach. Some screenshots... You spawn here, at the first checkpoint. First turn here, you can ride on the walls if you want but it's not really necessary, unless maybe there are a ton of people in the game. The "cannon." The teleporter inside takes you to the top of the mountain (No huge jumps, sorry haha). The top of the mountain, obviously. Second checkpoint's here. 3rd checkpoint. Starting the turn around the rock. The mancannon there works like a speed boost. Unless you go over it really awkwardly, it works perfectly, so I'd recommend trying to go on it every time. More speed boosts. 4th checkpoint, laps end here. Final little drop here. aaaaand finally, a nice overview shot. And that's it! Any comments or criticism would be greatly appreciated, and if there's any game-breaking problems, let me know and I'll fix it right away.
Very nice. I really like where you made the teleporter reciever. Surrounding that in rocks is a great touch. The mancannons too seem like a great touch, A nice way to get ahead if used properly. The second to last picture is the only area I see that could use some touching up.
after playing the map, i noticed that it had a very nice and repitive feel to it. very nice job on the map onlything i would work on is try to make some of the banks a little less angled.
when i read mario kart, i thought you meant the n64 mario kart this map looks great though, I agree with the comment about the second to last picture unless that was done on purpose to present a challenge
The drop in the second to last picture is definitely an area that had me worried, but for the most part you should land it ok. Still, I'll see if I have any more pieces lying around to make it better with. As for making the banks a little smoother, I'll definitely see what I can do, but I'm pretty sure I have no walls or building blocks left so it might be difficult. The part in the second to last picture actually isn't that bad. The only thing I noticed was that the teleporter flipped you too often. Either move it farther from the back wall or push the back wall farther out.
Yeah, I just now started to notice the teleporter flipping me over a lot. It never did that once while I was forging it but when I played it with somebody it happened almost all the time. Does anybody have any suggestions on how I could fix that? I really have no clue.
Except for the flipping issue, this is a really fun track. Played with 8 friends and we all loved it. Love the man cannon boosters. It does feel mario cart-ish
Very nice racing map. I like how the one bank turn looks like it belongs to Forge World with the rocks that surround the turn. Nothing really absolutly amazing but this map is pretty solid. I'll give you a 8/10 I would like to see more race tracks in the future from you
