A modern take on a beloved classic game type from previous titles. We've mostly all logged some serious time into playing Fat Kid at one point. Besides being a classic mini-game, this map was forged terrifically by MajorDaan48 and well deserving of a place in the top 3 community voted maps.
An extraordinary thematic map, Sanctum has proven to show just how far community forge maps can go. Congratulations to THE SLAMMERSS for gifting us with this beautiful arena map, and securing second place for this months results.
And lastly we have Fever Pitch. This map captivated many forgers as one of the most visually impressive forge play spaces the community had seen thus far. With it's believable theme and fun play style, it is clearly deserving of its winning position for Community Favorite.
Well that wraps up another month of your community voted maps, what do you think of the results? Let us know, and be sure to post your own maps this month for a shot at the next round! Until next time.
What inspired you to craft this beautiful theme for Fever Pitch?
"Fever Pitch actually started off as an Indiana Jones themed Infection map (Think Temple of Doom with Spartans). @TickleMeBuddha and I were playing around with the premise and put together a rough draft of caverns and wood. Tickle even crafted nifty ziplines for traversal across the chasm, but sadly he had to shoot off to work for the entire weekend. When left to my own devices, I decided I loved the theme, so started a new canvas and began work on a smaller, core map set inside a lava filled mine. (Sorry Tickle!)"
Where did the name come from?
"I wanted to pick a name that conveyed not only the theme of the map, but also it's gameplay style - I wanted to push gameplay to be fast paced with a focus on precision rather than close quarters combat. That and a sense of mild panic when in the open."
How much was the design influenced along the way?
"A ridiculous amount. So many people were open, helpful and honest with their feedback, both good and bad. I knew I had a good theme, but I'm the first to admit my design and scale have always had issues. Thanks to people like @xdemption and @Max Extra pushing me to bring the map in closer, speeding up gameplay. Also @A 3 Legged Goat for his invaluable encounter and pathing advice and @WyvernZu for her frankly fantastic lighting skills. The map saw huge changes following it's initial release and I'm really grateful to everyone that gave feedback."
What can we expect from you next?
"With the new Forge PC update, expect something utterly ridiculous from me "soon". I hear vehicle welding is a thing now..."
