I'm planning on making a Colossus remake from Halo 2. But I am not sure how to make the 'explosive' crates. Are there any ideas on how to make cover that explodes by bullet fire, and that does harm to the player. Try to remember I am doing this on Sandbox.
Well obviously fusion coils aren't even close to the size of the explosives in Colossus, so what could i put around a coil to make it bigger but still explode.
If you did that, it would've be a movable object anymore... If you want it to still be movable, it's just not possible.
Can ya merge a box with a fusion coil? I know in Foundry you were able to interlock moving objects with non-moving objects, maybe you could have a fusion coil, then the cover. So you shoot the coil, and it hurts you even though you're in cover. It won't move, and it might respawn badly, but it might work.
I dont remember the actual size of the crates on Colosses, but I think the smal block with the orange design (cant remember name) with a fusion coil on its side on top may work. If not, try experimenting with different objects
You could surround then with 'block, tiny' or put two barricades back to back. They are the only options I see.
This is the same thing I was wondering. I think I've only seen one conveyor belt in Halo and it was too complex to make it big / long enough for it to fit on a Colossus remake. I like the idea of a remake. I think you might be the first to attempt it (questionable assumption). I hope you do it amazing because I'd love to see something other than just the popular maps being remade over and over.
The convery belt and the sheer size of the map may be doom for a remake on this map. It is a humongous map in terms of building materials. I read somewhere once that someone did make a map with a fully working conveyer belt, and the map was called Pallet Parade. I honestly don't remember who it was made by, I think it was a foundry deal too. I think its in the featured section... Thought about the conveyer belts: if you manage to get them in there, make sure to measure how far a fusion coil or plasma battery can fall without exploding or getting too close to exploding.
It was by Cosmic Rick, but in comparison to the size of all the pallets lined up next to one another, the exposed section of convey belt was tiny. I always wondered if that was due to necessity because of the pallet's respawn times, or just a matter of convenience and simplicity, but the harsh reality is that any conveyor belt is going to be small, and possibly not strong enough to support many objects. There's no shame in just leaving the coils on the map as a static threat, especially considering grav lift's are $10.
ctrl+alt+spambungiewithrequeststomakemoremapremakes I have that button. Comes in handy sometimes. I also like the "spambungiewithcanihazreconz?" button.
Or you can do a remake in the terms of "in times long past, this was a working factory". Please do remake colossus. Please? You can leave the conveyer belt aside, it's too hard to make, and the amount of objects you'd need to use would ruin the rest of the map.
I have that. I also like using Ctrl+F+U and [any key]+Awesome. I had a ponder about Colossus and the best solution for a 'remake' using movable fusion coils would be to have all the floors sloping and channels for the fusion coils. Overall, the map would be sloping towards the windows and be a bit more bowl like. Unfortunatly, I'm not sure if this would be possible with the available budget. If you're building it in the Crypt then to allow for the sloping floors (and the holes at the end of the belts) you would need to build another ground floor. Just the basic floor structure would require atleast enough materials to cover the entire floor of the Crypt.
Ah that's a shame I would have liked to get a remake of Colossus, I always liked that map. I was actually thinking on making it myself. Did you use all the default items as well?
Default items are fail. You can just keep the original spawns and objectives, and your object limit will be just fine.
That's not true. If you want to maximize your maps OL you need to keep the original objects. Yes working with original pieces can be a pain, but by no means impossible. Go for a budget glitched version of collosus. Build in the sky bubble as well.
