Created by: Aaronator Description: Cold Cavern is a Conquest map which utilizes the caves and bases of Snowbound. The game is a mix of close and mid-range combat, with the middle territory being within the open room in the caves. The lead can easily sway between teams and it is nearly impossible to capture all territories. The asthetics add a great touch to this map that most Conquest maps lack, snow. Along with the unique shape of the map, the gameplay is the same. In as little as five to six seconds, a great lead can turn into a fight to survive right outside your base. In the last screenshot, did you Geo-Merged the teleporters? If yes, can you tell me how or send me a link to like a video or a tutorial? Thank you. It's always funy when there is about 100 corps on the ground in the cavern when I play on Snowbound, this is definatelly my favorite part of Snowbound, and I always wanted to do something like this... This can be the funniest game ever made or the worst **** ever made, all you need is a good gametype. ;)
Looks like a fun conquest map, but this has been done many times before, and the question that must be asked when that happens is: How is this different? There's nothing really changed from any other versions, and no innovations that could help the gameplay. Also, It would be much better if the center entrance could be blocked by something other than teleporters. I have tried using them in my maps, and they detract from the gameplay and enjoyability of the map significantly due to the annoyance of accidentally running into them or the possibility of glitching of them. Using a supply case or crate instead would help make the map more enjoyable as a whole.
I've never seen a Snowbound Conquest map. Also the teleporters don't take away from the experience. They are set a little bit into the hole so they do not affect gameplay. But thanks for the concern. Also they are barely noticable when you are fighting and going toward the enemies base. Also, there is a crate behind it, I don't know if these pictures are completely up to date. I put the teles there because they are better at preventing a player from going into the hole to camp. Try downloading the map and trying it. It is a very fun experience and a great conquest map in game. Thanks for the comments though guys. I appreciate it. And Joe, you can Ghost-merge teleporters just like other objects. Weldone aaron, simple yet fun map. Impossible to glitch out of by my standard ;p In a new version you could work on a fix for the tunnels being quite closed and being quite campable behind the shield doors. Good luck and weldone ;p
It was really fun testing this. The flags were placed where you'd expect them to be and it was very fast paced. The weapon choice was good and the way you blocked of each exit couldn't of been done much cleaner with the object choice you have on Snowbound. The only thing I could pick at is the last flag for each team to get. It was impossible to cap. Like 3 times we got 4 of the 5 and when we went for the fifth, the other team had spawned. Overall though, it is a well made map, especially for a snowbound map!
Great use of map geometry Aaronator. It looks to play well. Could we get a pic of the spawning area? I can't play it ATM, and it looks like some weapons are away from the path (which should be a part of any Conquest map). Anyway, nice job. I'll have to get a couple test sessions later. One last question, where do the teleporters in the middle pathway lead to?
Joe when you siad all you need is a good gametype . Its conquest So you dont really need a gametype if you just played conquest !
