So here it is. I am sorry if I sound like a noob, and have yet to actually try this myself. I know that you cannot use the save/quit process to float objects when you have more then one player on xbox live. But I have not yet been told if it will or will not work on splitscreen. If it is possible on splitscreen that would actually make forging some maps easier and less time consuming. what do you guys think. and yes I looked at forging 101, but no, they weren't specific and just said multiplayer would not work using the save quit method. So is it all multiplayer or what? Edit: my reasoning that co-op floating is possible is because there are no players connected to your xbox to when you save data. Theres no milisecond between you and your friend which I believe is what causes the items that your trying to float to turn in directions that you don't want them too. Maybe this theory is incorect, if so please let me know.
Multiplayer as in people in the party? because i know that works and so does with splitscreen.. i do that all the time, sign on a guest so you can float more than one object
yeah, I was talking about splitscreen floating. Thanks, I was wondering if it worked. alright, I guess that this thread can be closed now...sorry.
save and quit works on multiplayer for me. I tried it with a freind. hmm i have supperconnectionlbility lol
If by this you mean using one player to hold up the static item long enough to float it, then yes, it will. I often find myself using two controllers to make floating less of a pain in the neck, simply because I really dislike Save&Quit (yes, I am absurdly impatient). In fact, you could even use more controllers for more precision forging and more advanced co-op techniques. My mind is going crazy with the mere possibilities right now... EDIT: ...yeah, that's what I get for skimming instead of reading. S&Q doesn't work for multiplayer, I'm guessing, because whenever you do S&Q floating on your own, the static object drops after you've ended the game (because you're not holding it anymore). My guess is that for multiplayer, the game will take the last known state of the map by any players in the round as what is saved. Perhaps the game hasn't "ended" for the second player(s), and the game is recording all changes that happen all the way up to the moment that they return to the menu. I haven't experimented with this, but that's my guess. Though really, why would you need S&Q for multiplayer when you can float by braces?
Well I have lots of buddies who I know in real life who play halo. I was thinking that we could make a map. This is why I asked. And knowing that even more then two player splitscreen floating is possible Jpec I'm seriously thinking of throwing a forge day or something. How about system link? or would the fact that it still take time to connect to other xboxes ruin the save/quit method? If it's possible to have up to sixteen forgers using the save quit method all at once that would be amazing...
if you would have read my post.. i explained that it does work in multiplayer and splitsceen.. no one needs to reply anymore because he asked for this thread to be closed
sorry i wasnt replying to you caboose.. but as long as its the party leader who does the save when everybody has what they want floating it will work
