looks 100% accurate, but I think last exit would actually make a better map, depending on where you put the initial spawns, would they be where rockets/sniper spawn in odst? you should definately do last exit though
Yeah probably. I've got a fascination at the moment for recreating odst maps/spaces so I will think about last exit. At the moment I am trying to think of ways to reduce the LoS across the map, but trying to stick to the original map at the same time is hard. I'm thinking I'll leave the long line of site but make sure it's AR starts only.
I love recreating areas from campaign (and therefore firefight levels as well). ODST has some gems too. last Exit could make an excellent multiplayer map. Crypto if you ever wanna try co-forging some ODST space with me it could be cool. i've got some interesting ideas as well. Anyways, the map looks great. i was impressed when you showed me in forge. i just wish you left the rear building open instead of closing it off.
Alright yeah. I reckon we should co-forge something. As for that building... well I do have a $1000 of budget left...
Thanks for everyones comments! I have enjoyed making this map but lately I've been looking at it and thinking, "wheres the wow factor?". There isn't much. So Im going to leave it and move along to a new invasion experience. I have already begun planning on it so expect to see something within a week.
Wow, you're going to do another wonderfully fancy invasion map to go along with Data Hive? How are you going to pull this shenanigans off? Can't wait for the next update.
im typically very picky about odst remakes, being a huge fan of ODST, (not just the game, but the whole idea behind an ODST squad) and this remake is accurate enough that even as is, i knew it immedeatly. however, i did notice one thing. it looks like the scale may be a bit bigger than it was in Odst. could be a result of not being able to throw in the wrecked and abandoned vehicles, or just scaling issues, but it looks like the wraith is tiny compared to the ODST one, in teh pics. however, other than that, and its not really an issue so much as just a possible quirk, since the scale isnt that far off, the map itself looks like a great remake. i do actually think if you have funds for it, you should remake palm trees if you can, just for asthetics, but i think its good otherwise. i loved the datahive remake, and i like this almost as much. more ODST!
I actually went for a walk in ODST the other day and checked out Rally Point and it was remarkably similar. The scale actually seems fairly accurate despite how the images look. The only major issue I noticed was the entire back section was a bit higher in the actual map than in mine. While not too detrimental, it does reduce the elevation changes on my map, and due to budget/object restrictions I cannot raise it. Also lol I tried palm trees and failed. Maybe Ill try again.
Is this map going to be released anytime soon? It looks good, so I'm hoping so. Reminds me a lot of a certain part of the Kizingo Boulevard campaign mission. The one where the Phantom drops off the Wraith.
Damn I need to finish this. Its just bee sitting there lately cos I had another Invasion map mind explosion and forged that. I'll need to get some more testing done to see what I need to fix as I have forgotten.
This, But no seriously man, my face in each of those stages was exactly like the ones above. (o_o)->( -.-)-> (O.O)
I can't remember the name of the original firefight map, but this looks absolutely incredible. The bridges are in exactly the places I remember them! I love how it has a nice, clean look, unlike the dirty, dark look of the original.
