Certain Properties on One Way Shield Doors

    Currently I am making a certain map in forge world, and have used shield doors before. In this new map, however, I would like to be able to use larger shield doors than what are available, and when trying to solve the problem, I found that the shape of the one way shield doors can be edited. Unfortunately, it seemed to just be a white cylinder with a one way shield door in the middle, so does the shape property on one way shield doors (after pressing "X" on it there will be a shape option on the bottom) have no effect on actual gameplay? It would be much easier for me to edit the shape to make a box out of one way shield door than using all of them and getting bad measurements. Thanks.

    that shape is for designating the size of an objective

    Basically shape doesnt do anything. Its for defining the size of an objective like stockpile or a hill, because you can make objects the objective.

    Reiterating the above, plus - you'll notice that almost all forge objects have a shape property. It does the same thing for all of them, and has no bearing on their physical shape.

    Can I temporarily hijack this thread?

    Has anyone else noticed that when a one way shield is present and there are other gadgets that mess with movement (such as other one way shields or mancannons) there, sometimes the one way shield will take on the properties of another gadget? I have been able to use this to go through one way shields. Does anybody know why this is?

    I agree, and yes, permission granted. I recently made a map that I hope to post that is almost identical to the Darth Maul battle in the first Star Wars movie (Phantom Menace). Obviously, these one way shields fit the bill perfectly because they are close to the red shields in the movie, etc. However, while forging I too found that when boosting uber fast in oracle mode, I got through sometimes. Once I got out, though, the shield door magnetism drew me back in even when I was a few yards away. Becase "Obi Wan" has high speed, he can match the Oracle's boosting speed and bypass my walls. There are potentially infinited uses for this, and, truly, I despise one way shield doors for the many problems they make. However, they are the most interesting of all the other forging objects I think. Strangely, the shield door magnetisim has made a never ending blur when a teleporter was placed outside the red part. The magnetism drew me in, teleported me to the same spot, drew me in, etc. Total idiot trap. Your Man Cannon way would be good to allow only people past and not vehicles, or something.

    Oh! One last thing. You can make pretty knarly elevators with the magnetism I mentioned. Or, if in a racing map, you can use the one way shield blue side to slow down movement to prevent a wreck. I don't like racing maps, though, so I'm not totally sure.

    Yes, it makes me think that one-way shields effectively "stack" on each other like tin cups and vehicles. But why is this?
