It's pretty much impossible to decide what weapons would be good on your map if you don't post any pictures or descriptions. If you want to achieve weapon balance on your map, you're going to have to carefully select what weapon you want and where exactly you want to put it. You're gonna have to put a lot of thought behind every placement of a weapon.

Why is this weapon HERE and not THERE? Will one team have more of an advantage with this weapon than the other team? If a player starts camping with this weapon, is there a weapon that can be used to take him out? Do both teams have access to equal weapons? Are there weapons in a place where they can be used effectively? (e.g. a sniper in a sniper tower, a shotgun in an enclosed hallway. You don't want to put a weapon in a place where a player will pick it up and then go on a killing frenzy without moving) How do the weapons influence the flow of your map? Is there an appropriate amount of Risk vs. Reward for each weapon? Are grenades placed in enough places, yet aren't too abundant? Is there extra ammo for non power weapons on the map?

As you can see, placing weapons is not simply a matter of picking some out and dropping them on your map, you have to put a ton of thought into the placement of each one. If you want some help placing weapons on this particular map, you need to post pictures of your map or possibly find a more experienced member who is willing to help. Anyway, good luck finishing your map.

I'd replace the fuel rod with a rocket launcher, since caves are more associated with humans. However, I think a spiker would work well in that setting, since in Halo 3, brutes were associated with rocky terrain.

Wow I really need to reconsider how i place weapons. Thanks for the help! Ill also replace the fuel rod with a rocket. Should i give it 2 or 4 rockets? Also is it better to give weaker weapons more clips from the get-go, or place more of that weapon to gain ammo?

1st question it depends on how much cover you have and where its placed (risk vs. reward)
2nd question weaker weapons like the assault rifle sould have a few extra clips because they aren't the sharpest nail in the treehouse of protecting your self from aliens but a DMR should have a bit less because it takes almost an entire clip to kill one person with an assault rifle but the DMR can get maybe 3 kills per clip just think about how much ammo it takes up to kill someone fully shielded.

    -Replace fuel rod for rockets
-Give rockets 1 or 0 spare clips
-Space out your weapons evenly and put power weapons either in a the middle or on each side if you are going for a competitive play map
-Be sure to include plenty of DMR's and/or Needle Rifles
-You can check out my cave map (see sig) if you need some help/inspiration. I don't have very many weapons at all especially compared to my other maps but it may be some help.

my favorite cave weapon has to be the concussion rifle. spikers are also kinda useful in tight spaces because of the meelee bonus, without being super-powerful.

in the lava-pit part of my map, i have 2x spikers, 1 concussion rifle, 1 magnum, and 1 shotgun

fuel rod/missile launcher are overpowered in tight spaces IMO.
