I'm sprucing up the chess gametype to look a bit more stylish. The board itself is also easier to see. If you see problems with the squares, it's usually at the start of the game and only when you're zoomed out. it's a frame rate thing I think... once two or three pieces die the blocks display normally at any distance...
At first I was like Lol, another chess map, but I saw your pics. Nice to see you actually took the time to not only make the area around the map more interesting but you made the board better too. Good job to you mate.
Thanks dude. I've been thinking that part of the fun with halo chess is the many backdrops you can create for it, people just need to be creative.
Yeah, one thing that annoys me with yours (probably me being pathetic) is the dark squares, the patterns do not line up! Sorry, but it hurts lol. But sweet map! Too bad my original map that I made in 30 seconds, where I just moved the board to the Coliseum, and put a window in has over 1,000 DL's, and our updated ones have very little... Oh well...
I was trying for a sort of quadrant symmetrical thing, but it doesn't quite work wit an even number of alternating squares, so you are probably right. I have to fix something anyway so I'll probably rotate the blocks again. At least we got these maps in early, better chance of being seen in the long run. [br][/br]Edited by merge: You are a monitor, and you fly into the game peice you want to move, and you are given options as to where you can go. You can only kill enemies in squares which represent legal moves. 2 players required unless you want to win uncontested.
