Ok, so I've been looking for a capture card a lot recently. I already have a Hauppauge HD PVR (external capture device) and it's.. ok. There's a lot of stuff wrong with it like the fact it decides when it wants to work, the drivers are a nightmare, the software also sucks monkey **** and you can't turn it off because it won't turn on again. Oh and you can't use it live because there's a 1.5second delay on everything you do. On the plus side, I managed to get it working on Windows 7 (after like 4 hours of none stop driver configuration) and the device captures HD quality... YAY. So I've been looking at the Black Magic Intensity Pro (Internal card). Now, price is not really an issue. I have a budget of £200.00 at the max (Probably works out to be about $250USD) and the BMIP works out to be around £140.00. So that's £60.00 for beer at the weekend. However, reading through a lot of threads and stuff... I'm still left undecided. I want a BETTER card than the hauppauge, because quite frankly I'm unbelievably pissed at hauppauge for selling a half finished product with so many bugs and glitches. You can't even use the IR Remote they send with it! The BMIP also has good video input (2x HDMI, 1XDVI) so again, that's some good stuff. However, because it has a DVI input, I'm left wondering whether this device captures Audio as well as video? Tech specs on various sites list Audio types etc... but we all know Tech Specs on sale websites are an absolute fail in the industry. (I recently saw on scan that the BMIP was listed as NON-HD Compatible, when I messaged them about it, they said it says in the tech-specs it is. I check back again, and they converted the big red X to a green Tick... ¬_¬) So, does anyone have any other suggestions or info on the BMIP? Any help would be great... sooner the better too! I couldn't wait, so i've gone with the BMIP anyway
