Everytime I try to Forge I am either lost for inspiration, or unable to find a place to start. Sometimes I start a map that I am quite happy with, then save it. Come back to it later and discover that it's pathetic. It's been about 2 months and I still haven't posted my first map so can someone please help me! Has this ever happened to anyone else??? How much practice does it take to get good?????
This happens to us all. You start a map and the more you forge it the more you will hate it. You know where every little imperfection is and the whole map seems to get more crooked and more misaligned. Keep building though and once its finished you will look back and think "its not that bad, I don't know why I was so frustrated". If anything experiencing this probably shows you are a good forger since it means you are concerned with the details
If I were you, I'd first start with a particular style/game type, and then mold your map around making it fun for that. Aka, if your thinking one-bomb, one-flag type stuff, make it asymmetrical with a base at one end.
Ill tell u wut i do.
