Well I got the red ring of death today, needless to say I was quite annoyed, but i'm not one of those guys who sits back and does nothing. I went on done some research on the RRod, Firstly, I went to go and find a way to fix it and this video shown me a brillient technique on fixing RRoD, It works the same way as the towel trick, Well it is the towel trick.... but instead of leaving it in a towel for half an hour you leave it for 5 minutes then unwrap it put a high speed fan at the back of it and wait 2 minutes then turn the xbox on and switch it off and on and off and on and off until its green lights again. Doing it this way:
    1. Dramatic drop in the risk of a fire.
    2. Almost unoticable to microsoft
    3. Less time consuming

Anyway on to the halo bit. After doing research and a lot of reading about RRoD alot of them have actually tied in with halo 3. The most common one is people have played it too much, but theres also the budget glitched maps and one of my faviorites, FunBox Map, Also scratching the disc in the map parts can make the xbox work hard to try and load the map and just overheat from the loading.

Sorry if my post is a little vauge, Im a bit tierd right now.

I've heard of the towel tricck but im afraid you cant avoid the RROD. Eventually the xbox will get it again and even sooner. If you put the intercooler on your xbox will last about 5 minutes more until you get the RROD again. Basically the towel trick will work but once you get the rrod it'll just keep happening within the week, day, or hour.

Im not sure, but most RRoD cases are usually to ppl who play halo. that could be just because ppl play halo more than any other game.
