How would a crate (Think single box) look like if it fell from the sky? I know it will be broken apart, but how would the pieces look? Scattered around so that it doesn't look like a crate anymore? Or an out of shape crate? I'm asking this cause I wanna make a map with a few broken crates as part of the scenery, but I'm never seen broken crates that break due to impact before. Before you ask, I tried google and yahoo and found results about rubbish like dogs (No link...?) and things that look like broken pallets in halo 3. I don't need pictures, just a description on how they would look like. Thanks in advance. EDIT: Since I FAIL at describing the "crate" properly (Or is it people not thinking out of halo 3?), I will say now that what I mean is big, broken, cuboid containers. That's right, you heard me, its containers now not the halo 3 crates that make people think that all the crates in the world look like that.
Sorry to have to tell you, but you can't have pre-broken things in forge, also, only pallets, wooden boxes and explosives are destructible. Sadly crates can't be destroyed. EDIT: Sorry, I misunderstood. Maybe geomerge single boxes into the ground at random angles, if you're good enough, you could merge them so they look like part of the same box.
I know, but I want the boxes to be open kinda like a hollow and sealed box that broke open. So I'll be making it with barriers and walls on avalance. I also thought about geomerging single boxes into the ground, but then it wouldn't really be realistic unless they are made of a super strong material that doesn't break on high impact. In that case, it wouldn't even need to look broken at all since it's too strong to break.
What map is this on, Foundry? If so, then geomerge as he said. If on another map that has crates and single crates, you could subsitute those...
well, the actual crate is made up of smaller boxes, actually found on other levels, mabe you could use those, if theyre even on avalanche
You guys don't get it when I say crate don't you? Fine, I'll tweak my words a little. What I mean is BIG, CUBOID CONTAINERS that are used to contain things, which I will using walls to make the sides of the broken container. If you really need to know, I'll be using Avalanche. And before you ask, YES I will be geomerging the walls into the avalanche ground to give it a more realistic look.
