I never imagined Bungie would be able to accomplish this, but they have combined some of the best aspects of Invasion into Slayer. For those of you who don't know, the new gametype "bro slayer" is a team slayer gametype where you have a battle buddy that you can spawn on, and not to mention the other multiple backfield spawns you can spawn in. This is impossible to forge into team slayer (well not for Bungie). What I am wondering is if we will be able to customize this gametype so we (the forgers) will also have the ability to manipulate invasion spawns into team slayer. Hopefully when the gametypes come out next week we will be able to add a new depth to Team Slayer! I wonder what other gametype combinations Bungie is capable of? It's going to be really awesome to forge all these new gametypes when they get released. My favorite so far may have to be Invasion Skermish. But the new and improved Grifball sounds good too. Bro slayer does sound interesting with the team spawns, I thought they would have that already in, but no better than never.
It sounds like they're really working on all the screwed up custom game settings. Although we'll probably be stuck downloading their gametypes from matchmaking for a while instead of just having custom settings, it's still progress.
It's basically the same thing without weapon drops, and with spartans on both sides. They also have invasion slayer with only spartans or only elites so you can use weapon drops.

As long as there are no griefers or AFC teammates, this is one playlist in which spawn camping theoretically shouldn't be an issue. Now if we can only get moron teammates to learn to not give away positions by crouching instead of immediately running, life would be great.
Your Death + Teammate's Death + Not Enough Backfields = Moar Spawnkilling And yes, Bungie could be stupid enough to only give us one backfield on a map. Fireteams on Paradiso Invasion Slayer only get one.
Now I've played Invasion, so I know how it works on that playlist... but based on this statement... It could just be a typo, but it does say "teammates" and not "teammate's". At least to me, that implies that you can cycle through everyone on your team and spawn on them. "Teammate's" would imply to me that you only have the choice of one teammate. And if being able to select anyone from your team as a spawn is the case, it will be a welcome addition to the Invasion game type. One person can set themself up as the spawn point near the enemy base and everyone can now spawn there.
It would be great if we could set the fireteam size or the number of fireteams in custom games, because in an objective game like invasion, having one spartan up on the spire, then suddenly his entire team spawns would be a bad thing. It would be even better if they just gave us the option to enable fireteams in custom games for any gametype.
That's true, but at the same time, the Elites can also spawn on another up in the Spire. My biggest concern is that this would take care of the issue of when one player has a teammate that quits, leaving him with no spawnbro and forces him to start at a normal spawn point every time. It's happened to me way too many times.
True, I don't play invasion without some bros anymore. I think three to a fireteam would work out better, but that only happens in 16 player games and even then one fireteam is stuck with only two people. Hopefully we'll see a fix for things like this in the Title Update I've heard so much about. I have a feeling the throwdown might be changed to bro slayer.
