    ~ Bio Breakout ~

    Bio Breakout was created by me and two friends the day the Heroic Map Pack was released, although the final version, including revised spawn and weapon placements, wasn't finished until the following day.

    Built as an Infection map, Bio Breakout features a large, relatively easily defended base, where the humans spawn. The base, however, has very limited ammo, and the weapons never respawn. Before long the humans will be forced to abandon the base, and scavenge for more useful weapons around the map.

    There are multiple main hiding places for the humans, all quite easily defended and containing small weapons caches. Again, however, weapons don't respawn. The most used hiding spots include Spawn Point, The Third Floor, The Truck, The Office and The Safe Room. After playing the map once or twice, you'll quickly be able to find these spots. Other, more rarely used, spots include The Corner and Shotgun Bridge. These are used less because The Corner is very small, and the only weapon it contains is a Needler, and Shotgun Bridge is risky, because it requires a well-times Mancannon Jump to reach the ledge, and creep over the zombie spawn, before leaping onto the suspended bridge. On top of that, if you miss the ledge, you will fall into one of the accurately named Idiot Cages, which humans are incapable of escaping. Zombies, however, can get out with a simple crouch jump. Get caught in an Idiot Cage and you're as good as dead.

    One of the two small rooms in the default layout has been converted to a human Safe Room, containing a turret and several weapons. This area in particular is very easy to defend, so it is usually the zombie's first priority to reach the Safe Room quickly, and destroy the turret. Without the turret, the safe room stops being so safe...

    The other small room is the Zombie Spawn, which is decorated with all manner of things to make it look more Sci-Fi. The main areas of interest in the Zombie Spawn are the Custom Powerup, which, when used with the Bio Breakout gametype, will give the zombies shields, poor camo and a small speed boost for 30 seconds, and the Sender Node. This teleports them just outside the spawn, which they can now no longer access, preventing them from grabbing another powerup later.

    The majority of weapons on this map do not respawn, but there are some exceptions. Most have very little ammo, though. The only respawning weapons are 2 Assault Rifles, 1 Battle Rifle and 2 Frag Grenades in the Safe Room, a Shotgun at the Spawn Point (Respawns every 150 seconds, very little ammo), a Spartan Laser (Respawns every 2 minutes, requires two people to access) and a Shotgun on Shotgun Bridge (Does not appear at start of game, respawns every two minutes, moderate ammo).

    As for game settings, the humans are mostly default settings, except that they lack radars and spawn with Magnums. The lack of radar adds an atmosphere of constant apprehension to the game, while the Magnum starts makes you anxious to move to a weapons cache to get a better weapon.

    The Zombies also lack radars, making them search more for the humans, and listen for their footsteps and voices. The zombies, by default, are quite fast, but have no sheilds. Their 150% damage resistance helps them survive, but not for long. The Custom Powerup will give them temporary shield and poor camo, as well as a speed boost for 30 seconds, making them a far more formidable foe for 30 seconds after they spawn.

    I think I have just about covered everything there is to cover about this map, and I hope you enjoy playing on it as much as I have.

    You can definitely tell you out a lot of time into this. That alone deserves a download.
