So guys, what's the best Zelda game Ever?

My opinion: Majora's Mask. Everyone says Ocarina. Don't get me wrong, Ocarina is a GREAT game. But I lovveee being able to put on the masks and turn into different people! :D

I know I'm gonna be flamed, but I LOVED Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX. The overhead view Zelda games seem to be overlooked by fans compared to 3D ones. Link's Awakening was also my first Zelda game, and I found it to be enjoyable, it was one of the few stories out there that with it being a dream, did not end up being total bullshit. Quite the enjoyable ride, IMO.

definite favorite was ocarina of time so glad they re-releasing it for 3ds just because its such a classic and the first single player game i could actually understand when i first picked up a controller but if i was to rule out 3d installments i would say favorite would be link to the past due to my amazing land speed record of a 6hr playthrough of the whole game. tho when it comes down to it your really just playing the same game over after each one with almost identical plots and slight change in graphics and scenery

although it seems to be everyone's least favorite, I enjoyed the wind waker far more than any of the other games. It's whole art style and concept just clicked and it had more things to do (I spent days on end trying to take a picture of every creature in the game, call me a completionist) than any of the other games in the series. It was far less linear than the others and I had so much fun playing through it probably more than 10 times.

Wind Waker is definitely the most under rated Zelda game. It's my favorite along side Ocarina of Time.

Agreed. I love Wind Waker. I gotta say that Ocarina of Time is #1 though.

I too love Wind Waker. In fact, my bro is playing it as we speak and I was playing it yesterday. To finish it off, I bookmarked YouTube - Wind Waker Unplugged (FreddeGredde) and listen to it forging and even in MM ever so often.

They're all pretty mediocre games, but the title of the best Zelda game definitely goes to Link to the Past. No contest.

I'll always have a soft spot for the Oracle games though. Even if they aren't the best, they're definitely the ones that have had a lasting impact on me. Same can be said about the original too.

Ocarina of Time > A Link to the Past > Wind Waker/Majora's Mask(Tied for awesomeness IMO) > Other ones > I haven't played Twilight Princess, or any of the handheld ones.

I'm going to have to say Ocerina of Time... Majoras Mask was close, but that whole "Three days to beat the game" concept really ****ed what could have been the best N64 game of all time, even with the song that resets it. Damn it, I want to play the game and NOT lose all my stuff. Ever. That should be a given.

Windwaker had a special place in my heart during childhood, but it went too hard on the stealth missions, namely the first take through The Forsaken Fortress, and some of the levels were just too annoying, like climbing The Deku Tree. As much as I loved it, I just can't say it's the best.

The Wii version, Twilight Princess, had an amazing plot and some kickass features; the ones I remember most fondly are changing from wolf to link at will, and using that rod that controls the environment, especially in some of the later temples. But having to actually use the Wii remote like a sword perverted it (and not for the sexual reason); I mean, half the time, it didn't even work, and they had not perfected it with a regular gamecube controller, so I just got to rant at the console.

And the handhelds just sent it to hell. The boat and train concepts were ridiculous; Wind Waker somehow pulled it off, but these games were lost with it, and those temples with the ass**** guards were just tedious in general. I couldn't have asked for a worse buzzkill than those.[/rant]
