Well, the game looks sick, yes, but theres a few things that are just terrible.

Firstly, the hitting. It looks like his hand is bobbing up and down, not meant to hit/kill someone. Hmmm...
Next, I noticed that the sand blowing looks completely fake, just a texture flowing across the screen.
Lastly, how long does that sniper reload for? I mean, it took like what, 5-10 seconds?

They went with a more realistic feel to everything, which i like, it will be a nice change from 1 shot kill in cod4. The sand did fail though, i noticed that right away

Is it my computer or the game itself that's being jerky and skipping frames?

The game does look beautiful, but looks do not make a game. Sure, the graphics are pretty nice, and I disagree with sdrak but do like the sand, and it has some smooth animation, but will it play well?

First thing I wish to note is the cover in this game. It boasts first person view while in cover, and I like that idea, seems cool. However, in those videos, it did not appear to be used often, nor does it seem like you would need to. Crouch and standing behind objects appears to work well enough. Not to mention, in order to see around cover your hiding behind, your body doesn't seem adequately covered, where any decent marksman will still hit you. Just standing behind cover already seems more effective since you can pop out of cover fast, but cover yourself completely. Also, I heard motion controls will be used with the cover system, tilting your controller to peak around etc. If this is true, I hope you can turn that off. PS3 motion controls do not go with FPS gaming, yet it seems game manufacturers make it their mission to use it in some way shape or form. Motion controls alone can ruin cover in that game.

Also, flamethrower doesn't look that awesome. It shoots out in a thin stream, not like fire should, and just takes the feel out of wielding a flamethrower. In that game, it looks like you just have a high concentrated laser beam that can ignite things on flame that it comes in contact with. In fact, that might have been better. This flamethrower doesn't seem appealing, and it doesn't even seem to be all that good, since it doesn't expand outward.

The games graphics and surrounding the campaign seems to give a false sense of something bigger than it actually is. In the videos I watched, things felt small and clastrophobic when you looked at it in the perspective of where you can walk. The skirmish areas feel awfully small, and clearly blocked off, and you gaze at the surroundings with longing only wishing you can go out a little further. Even the boss battle area was a bit small.

Overall, it seems like a good game for PS3, but part of the reason it has as much acclaim as it does is because of graphics. The first killzone sucked in my opinion, and they have a lot to overcome with basing this on the last game if they wish to make this a good game. If I had a PS3, i would get it, but it doesn't make me want to go out and get one. It definitely won't be a Halo or Gears killer as some PS3 fanboys would like to think.

I noticed AI problems, like when the player made alot of noise coming up the metal stair(clank clank clank) and the AI never bothered to turn around. And when the player charged to the second AI, the AI never shot until he was close. I mean honestly if somebody is charging at you with a shotgun your not going to stand there. The graphics are amazing but the seem to lack scale. As is what you would see in Gears 2 or Resistance 2. the environments just seem like fight through the building and then exit into another building and clear that one. That boss fight was not impressive either, shoot the electricity robot goes fail, then boom. And the backdraft looked umm not fake, just, repeated? As in you see the same building twice. With the engine at it's best I would have also liked to see destructible cover, like when he hid behind a desk and it blocked every bullet.

The sand flying across the screen kinda sucked. I really dont understand why alot of people thing this is the "halo killer" or "GoW killer". They said the same thing about the first one, but Halo 2 pwns Killzone 1. Honestly I'll probably get Killzone 2, and it doesn't look bad. Way to long reload times.

This topic derailed rather quickly... unless this was a Killzone thread.

But I can't comment on the graphics as I can't see the videos...

Anyway, for me? The best looking game ever is Crysis. The screenshot should show good it looks.

The only problem with the graphics is the way they made bushes.

As far as I see it, the only way Killzone will be the best graphics game, it'd have to be on the PC. Not the PS3. And besides, what they release for the game is unreliable as the job of those videos is to make the game look as good as possible.
